Sasfin Reviews

Sasfin, the bank that goes beyond

I enjoyed being part of the Group IT “fun committee”. I helped to be part of organizing braai days, social gatherings, strategy meetings and CSI’s. The employees at Group IT were friendly and helpful. No one gelt out of place, we are a family. Most of my team members are more than just colleagues, we are friends. The most challenging task I assumed was inheriting a project from someone who resigned. I was told that I will handle the project two weeks after she had left. The stakeholders in the project were hostile and had to win their trust in order for them to open up. There was no project manager for the project at that time. One thing that was upsetting was the buy instead of build strategy. I understand the reasoning why it was adopted but, the downside of that is the fact that the vendor will do all the business analysis work, leaving very little for the sasfin BA to do. Thus, the opportunity to learn something is lost.

Pros: Ability to learn
Cons: Dual roles
