As an Operations Manager, I am in a strategic role in the business for me to integrate and execute the business strategy in a short term and creating sustainable growth for long term. The position is at the centre of different business units therefore stakeholder managements is critical to build sound relationships that are outside my scope of control by managing SLA’s and maintaining positive relations that are aligned to company strategy. an individual need to have capacity to contribute positively to different parts of the organisation by providing solutions that are integrated and aligned to the business and creating a competitive advantage in the market. Current Department The business unit has been set up to be the integral part of the organisation as centralisation is key in our market. The BU operates using 7 channels to enhance customer experience and improves sales while gathering customer insights to drive innovation and resolve the customer’s daily problems.

Hardworking attention to detail always finding solutions to a problem

Through all my years within a supply chain environment I made it clear that it is very important to have good relationships with both internal and external customers. Through this end we can effectively contribute to the financial betterment of the companies we represent. I posses a very assertive and analytical approach to my customers and to me it is important to understand what their needs is not forgetting your companies goals and objectives.

Opportunity for career growth

My company follows world manufacturing standards and Good Manufacturing Practices, and i have learned how to operate and treat my co-workers with respect, and what i enjoy most is the environment and everyone is always looking forward to come to work.the most challenging aspect about my work is the mechanical part of it but i believe with time i will learn.

Strategic Finance Leader

I have 17 years FMCG experience at SABMiller. I have 12 years experience in Africa. I am currently head of Strategy and Operations Finance. I work with the MD in defining, evaluating and implementing the strategy. In my ops Finance role my team and I are experts in operational finance issues. We work with the finance teams in Africa and the other functional departments to reduce the cost of manufacturing and distribution and actively manage the balance sheet to reduce working capital. Prior to that I was the Finance Director in SABMiller's subsidiary. By focusing the business on the profitable SKUs and using our competitive advantage to grow the business and gain market share. I developed 2 of my finance managers which allowed them to get international transfers. I have also worked in London for SABMiller.

Excellent learning curve in this industry.

I'm a suitable candidate for this position. I have great leadership and coaching skills. My current role requires me to grow my sales team Volume sale, ensure that customers adhere to price compliance, implement promotions to assist our retailers to grow their businesses, ensure that we activate in their outlets to create excitement and bring more consumers to their outlets. All of this is achieved through good coaching and excellent leadership. In the last fiscal year of my current role I was able to take my sales team from a decline of -10% YTD to a 0.4% growth YTD in just 10 months. I believe that I meet the requirements for this position and would like an opportunity for an interview.

Good company but I believe employees are not well appreciated

Good company to work for with a great deal of exposure. It seems promotions and recognition is for a selected few, based mainly on colour/race. Salary is a big shame compared to the work done and comparing to other companies in the same industry-people on similar position or level

Internship

I have learnt a lot about safety and the best engineering standard of executing maintenancei. I work well with other people am a team player.I have been working with conveyor belts for 2 years. At the moment am working at AEL mining services at modderfontein as a mechanical engineering trainee, II am executing maintenance in de plant and assemblying pumps, at de moment am doing project designing.

Exposure and exprience

Currently working at South African Breweries, Polokwane region as a Risk Manager assistant whereby I help in issuing permit to work, appoint fire team members, first aiders, incident investigators and safety health and environment representatives… challenging aspects of the job is it does not allow me to grow because most of the work i am doing is not related to my qualification

Pros: i want to work at a company or industry where i will grow
Cons: i am willing to work for extra hours
