Excellent experience working in different systems.

I report to a senior engineer. I make sure that subordinates they work safe as policy laid down. I learn how to manage and lead different people in different situation. I enjoy the field I am in because its my field as mechanical technician and I apply my theory from school in other situations. The most challenging its a cornfin space in the submarine and there are females working there sometimes they stragly to work in other places.

Pros: Promotion wise its quick but depending on my progress
Cons: Eight hours normal day and twenty four hours when I am duty after four days

Sea ward defence of the Republic of South Africa

Its a good organisation as a first time employer. it basically introduce working processest to new entrants to the working market. As monitoring is one of the crucial roles that are played by the organisation, members are inclined to more disciplined way of doing things unlike a normal person.

Pros: Great room for growth
Cons: Your views are disregarded when your are a in a lower ranking

Hounered to be part of SA Navy

My day to day work start with heads count at 07:30 then followed by planning meeting at 08:15. I really enjoy the company of my colleagues, they make life a lot easier as we look up for each other at all times. Being out of your comfort zone thought me a lot about being independent and perseverance. I like being travelling the world and sailing just became one of hobbies. The most important thing about my job is that my family really understand what's on the stake and they always support me at all time.

Pros: N/A
Cons: N/A

Discipline

The safety of the submarine and personnel, the security of the submarine and equipment, doing a daily maintenance. My relationship with co-workers I very good. We respect one another, acknowledged the seniority. Discipline is very high in the military. I have learnt different systems that the submarine has so that in the near future can be able to operate it. I enjoy the life of being a sailor. The challenges are there such as I am not entitled to fix or repair electrical instruments as a qualified technician.

Pros: Opportunities are there just that we are many but it is up to each individual to fight the way up.
Cons: 9 hours per day

Excellent experience working in different systems.

To carry out maintenance and defect repairs on board the submarine mechanical equipment. To ensure that daily, monthly and annually maintenance is done and the data is captured in the system. To uphold and maintain the standards and competence of the subordinates by providing technical advice and training. Applying all safety and maintenance aspect as laid down in the relevant technical manuals. The most challenging is to make sure I trust my subordinates because one mistake will cost us live.

Pros: Promotion wise its quick but depending on my progress
Cons: Eight hours normal day and twenty four hours when I am duty after four days

Willing to learn more and inprove my knowledge of education.

I basically keep myself busy every day by repairing and maintaining equipments using some workshop equipments such as oscilloscope and multimeter were necessary. In most times we work as a team to share ideas were we encounter difficulties. We always learn different faults in most times. What I enjoy most is getting equipment fixed and working according to specifications, and the most challenging aspect is working at sea while sailing and trying to fix an equipment under pressure.

Pros: Yes.
Cons: 16 hours
