Manager : Benefits & Human Capital

To work at my current employee is extremely stressful although it not such a big payroll but its a very busy payroll from A-Z and that also include the HR side all the way to the accounting side that includes the reconciliations. The monthly payroll is centralise in JHB but it include a Botswana as well as a Namibian payroll and its about R40 million strong. It is Semi government and there for the reporting is all the way from Remco to Exco. the Payroll department falls under the HR and there for a lot of the admin side of HR also come down to payroll. Budgets ect

Pros: As the Mng:Benefits & Human Capital Admin there is no spare for growth and also with the state of the company all manages remuneration were freezed so for the last 3 years there was no increases for management and it will also be like that for the next 3 years.
Cons: The fact that we under staffed and the high demand of reporting with restructuring as well as grade audit ect will demand for you to work long hours to meed your deadlines

Good understanding of audit

I am a friendly and an open person who eager to learn new things. I have learnt how to audit compliance, finance and performance. I enjoy raising findings to non-complying departments. Finance audit is a bit challenging as it has to balance at the end.

Pros: Great opportunity for learning
Cons: Normal work hours

Constantly changing environments, adapt and move everyday

As Facilities manager a day consist of checking logged calls in the morning and prioritising them with the team. Check reception and reception areas. Assist GM Human captial with administrative duties. Liaise with phone company and IT regarding contracts. Team work between departments and colleagues is very family oriented. We help each other achieve. This is what I loved most, the comradeship. As everyday was a challenge what I learnt most is to adapt and move

Pros: Every day had new challenges
Cons: Aviation as an industry is a daily lesson

Good working experience

Excellent work experience. I loved working with customers although I was not paid because it was a practical. I learned how to conduct myself in a busy work environment and how to work under pressure. My co-workers are good people to work with. They did not make me feel incompetent. The most challenging aspects of the work was dealing with difficult customers that were not patient.

Pros: Communicating with customers
Cons: Addressing delays to travellers
