The most challenging aspects of my job are managing new changes to the working environment and coaching employees to work safely and own systems.

Excellent learning curve
My typical work day is to read through the past days production and after engage with engineering personnel regarding any defects encountered from the previous days running of the plant. Also do inspections in the whole plant together with ensuring that metal accounting is done to see how the performance of the plant is. I work with a team of people at the metallurgical lab and supervise the conduction of routine work for the day and also give guidance to new students. I have learnt a lot since arriving at the plant, learnt how to work effectively with co-workers and also on how to effectively supervise a team of people and bring out the best in them and thus ensuring that results are achieved at all times. The most challenging aspect about my job is ensuring that there is a balance between how the plant is ran and also how effectively critical equipment's should be maintained in order to have an excellent production performance.

see myself and an intelligent, loyal and hardworking person with the aim of developing myself to be successful in my career path. I am ambitious, multi skilled and a team player. Good learning curve
The company sends you to study further within your departments field. I have been promoted 3 times in the last 16 years. Most challenging aspects is the fact that the shaft I am working on is new shaft and we are mining trackless whereby the other shafts is all on conventional so it is all new and no one on site with experience that you can ask as everybody has conventional experience in my field. You face a new challenge every day which you need to overcome. Only problem is that this company employ based on race and not based on merits. People are also not on a probation period before appointment.
Pros: You learn something new every day.
Cons: You work hard and non stop, there is no time to rest or take lunch, you eat while working

Excellent growth
As an acting Commodity specialist, I have a portfolio on Contracts that I manage. My portfolio included plant and commercial contracts comprising of IT, plant and mine wide contracts. I also develop and manage Service Level Agreements of which I negotiate with Suppliers. My main responsibility is to consolidate spend and realise cost saving for the mine through negotiations and/or new initiatives

PLANNED MAINTENANCE ADMIN
My responsibility as Planned Maintenance Administrator is to ensure engineering department is to render better service to operations by performing most important job first. Provide orderly procedures for processing work to prevent work orders and maintain accurate backlog status. Maintain expect maintenance advice to operations through maintenance planner.

This company was my leaning cave
I had great time working for this company but I do feel that now is a time that I change parties and o the nearest to my home town which is Free State This company has gave me so many things in life like taking me back to school to study further and giving me an opportunity on a lifetime

Learn some things
I am in charge of two levels which is 642 level and 708 level. Do dailys, weeklys and monthly maintenance and break downs which are less due to our PMs. I have learned about ELT systems. I do levels TX, belt conveyers, cameras network, PLC SCADA...

Room for improvement
It it a great opportunity to work there as an instrument, we on break downs crew which we maintain all machines and instruments faulfinding, repair and install components on PLC,
