Excelent learning curve , exposure and good experience

I really enjoyed working in the development, facilitation and administration of the orphaned programme allocated to me for the past +10 years. I had different kind of responsibilities ahead of me from piloting and establishment of the program within the organisation. We were working as a team in our unit, our key responsibilities were to referrer cases within ourselves for the client to be assisted. lessons learned in the team: no one is perfect, clients needs are priorities, time is crucial always. with my previous job, I became pleased and fulfilled when I see my clients been cared for according to our standard, mostly when I have came up with tools to measure the impact I had made to the people's life and the progress of the programme. The challenges were when the gate keepers are making life not easy for us to work, as we were working with the community, especially vulnerable children in any kind.

Great for exposure and gaining experience, however there is no succession planning.

Over the past 8 years, the company has undergone several restructuring processes which resulted in a massive cut in employees across all departments and entities. This resulted in me taking on the work scope of my previous manager with half the salary. This is great for me in terms of gaining experience and learning new skills. I am now responsible for overseeing organisations monitoring and evaluations processes, improvements thereof and reporting to an executive. This requires one to work on own initiative. It has taught me to self-manage and come up with tricks of checking the accuracy of my work. It has also taught to present solutions to my direct report. When faced with a crisis, I present the crisis and solution for sign-off, as my direct report often has limited time for discussions. Challenging aspects would be having responsibilities of a manager without a management position. I often have to request information from managers and my position makes adherence to requests a challenge.

Pros: Great for gaining experience and exposure.
Cons: No succession planning and hard to break in to management.

NOPE

the experience hasn't been that great, because there are no promotion opportunities. when you are hired as a receptionist you will retire a receptionist. colleagues and customers will treat bad and assume that just because you are at the reception you didn't go to varsity or anything. interns will get better treatment compared to you. and absolutely no hope for promotion or anything.

Senior operationd officer

I am senior operations officer. Responsible for support unit and guarding division. Develop and manage departmental budget. Manage dept inventory. I have direct contact with organisational ICT, HR and Finance. I have deploma in office management and technology, diploma in security management, certificate in risk management, currently studying advance security management.

Excellent learning curve

The company politics get in way of employees providing services and also there is fraud happening in the organization and it is not addressed accordingly

Excellent learning curve

I just started the internship on the 1st of May 2017 so I would not have much to say about it. So far there are no challenges i have encountered There is a good relationship with co-workers I would like somethimg that will help build my career Something that will challenge me in so many ways
