My current job review

A typical work day entails checking emails, content creation for social media platforms, going from division to division for content, updating internal TV's and monitors with content for end-users/ customers, communication tasks, off-site coverage/documentation of events including interviews and photo capturing when required. I get along well with all my co-workers of all races, gender, ages, job titles, etc. I have learnt that I cannot be a softy or a pushover. I've learnt to be assertive in order to get things done. I enjoy writing, interviewing people, taking photos, conceptualising new ideas for content. The most challenging aspects of the job are not travelling to Africa regions in order to communicate effectively on their behalf; receiving delayed authorization therefore making it unable to deliver tasks timeously at times. I don't work in a team, I work independently and the only other team member is my boss.

Pros: Communication Offiecr for Africa
Cons: There isn't a team., it's only myself and my boss who make up the team and we represent the communication team for Africa.

Good learning curve

A typical day involves involvement with IBP's, receiving RFQ's and sending out to suppliers. We work closely as a team and interact on a good term. I have learnt team work and interaction with internal customers at an early level to discuss on projects and agree on timelines. The most challenging aspect is working under a tight deadline and receiving request from internal customers close to the deadline. Breakdowns are also a challenge as this put under pressure and only allow you a certain time to ensure that delivery is received just in time.

Pros: Not much room for growth
Cons: Work under pressure and put on long hours

Excellent learning opportunities

Excellent learning opportunities, exposure to a highly professional multinational environment. Opportunity for relocation within Africa or to Europe. Decent working conditions accommodating environment for working mothers
