Good learning experience

RNA is a very big company as part of the CTP group. The days are fast paced in my division and requires many overtime hours as the Financial Manager. I handle many queries on a daily basis and have learnt a lot about warehousing and ERP systems. I also understand the retail landscape a lot better now managing the debtors books. I enjoy the people I work with but do feel underappreciated by my superiors. The most challenging aspect of my job is the under resourced financed department.

Pros: Learn a lot
Cons: Overtime (only person in my division)

Excellent learning curve

I normally start at least half an hour before my normal time. I plan my day ahead what needs to be done promotions set up and how I'm going to get through all my calls. I greet the store management to I'm in the stores. Take photos and of my merchandised sections of the sales floor after I did a stock count. I report new products and opposition activities. I report all stock as I go to each store . I got a good understanding with my co workers. What I have I learnt is that direct opposition merchandisers tend to take advantage on forward share when they at the store . And that one should not by naive and let them walk over you. One should lay down a fair set of rules that would benefit both parties as well as the customers. I like that I can go into the trade and don't find it bored when doing my job. Because I get to go to different stores and experience different store environments. Each store provide an opportunity to grow the business and try and add a rate of sale to slower sellers.

Pros: Working Monday to Friday only , working weekends is optional.
Cons: Getting promoted is very limited.

Excellent learning curve

Monday to friday work, and have to meet dead lines. we always work ahead of time (prepare a 2 weeks aschedule in advance) For the past year about 9 employees left work, the work was just distributed among the existing workers i have learned to cope and work ander those stressfull conditions. This had meant adjusting my work schedule in order to meet my deadlines I work in an open office and along very well with my counterparts My work has taught me to multitask, accountability, and limit unnecessary mistakes. Working with a group of clever and innovative people is a source of inspiration Serving external clients means getting your mind of what you have been doing and focus on them, giving them undivided attention as if you serving them for the first time. But i always try to sound positive and welcoming to make sure that that get the service they deserve.

Pros: graet opportunity for promotion
Cons: long working hours

Great working relations with everyone, from Managers to peers. Work independently which I love that

I work early mornings and finish on time. My boss gives me tasks and then work on them immediately and aim to finish them on time. I learned to work independently and efficiently. I like challenges so I work hard to be the best in what I do, so my previous bosses and current give me challenges that I embrace all the time. My challenging aspects of the job, is when working with people who can't keep up with my work ethic. Also when partnering with someone to help when I am given too many tasks then they let down by not completing the work and you get to suffer because they don't work well under pressure as well as you do.

Pros: Great working relations with everyone, working independently.
Cons: Not enough challenges

Excellent Learning Curve

A typical work day would start off with responding to escalated emailed communications as well as telephone and faxed queries. Dealing and resolving these issue by both having the company's best interest at heart and those of whom we serviced. I have learned a great deal whilst being in the Customer care environment. I was blessed enough to represented the organisation well but also made our customer feel and know they are valued.

Learned a lot on my time with the company

I work from 8 hours a day when its not busy, a normal day dealing with clients, solving their queries. I have a good working relationship with my co-workers. I can do internet banking beside all that is expected in my contract. I enjoy busy days when you work non stop and laughing with co-workers when we take a break. Most challenges I have is the language barrier as I do not speak Afrikaans fluently and most of my clients are Afrikaans speaking and all my co-workers.

Pros: No opportunity for growth
Cons: Sometimes late nights

Print Media distribution is an extremely fast paced and exciting industry. Personal success comes from your ability to: coordinate all the products in your portfolio, schedule in advance, make strategic supply and demand allocations, based on sales trends, be able to identify gaps in the markets and make plans to actively fill them, then analysis the results of you decisions and adjust where needed. Successful implementation comes from teamwork, your ability to have excellent communication and coordination skills, let all parties know what happening have feedback from all levels and react to the information to ensure smooth operations. Overall success is your ability to meet sales targets and keep within budgets.

Cons: A declining and dying industry
