Enjoyed the rat race of it all...
Working as a challenge everyday, always on my toes busy... Whilst doing my own duties also assisted production manager with all his duties aswell. Weekly stock take of our components stores for the production schedule was done by me. I then also updated production schedule. Calculated what needed to be produce in each department and then compile Jon cards for each supervisor for production. Once production has commenced I would capture all necessary info onto Syspro. I did all filing of jobs and also captured daily production for production managers monthly report. The most challenging part of my job was keeping up with the demand and need of my attention. With doing all that I also assist plant manager with whatever information or spreadsheets he needed.
Pros: I got to go study Operations Management threw the company.
Cons: I studied and there was no room for promotion for me...

Excellent learning curve
Had managed to acquire lots of skills technical and management , had been one of the great journey, with a pleasant relationship with my co-workers, have learnt that everything is possible when you work well with your team, and had real enjoyed exercising my mechanical skills having the ability to distinguish between electrical and mechanical fault. Challenges would be time management when there is too much work load but with assistance to the time had putting all my effort and dedication had overcome that challenge.

Family
A typical day starts with meetings. As the day progresses you will have breakdowns which need urgent attention. There are procedures that need to be followed to have smooth sailings. The people are great to work with as you become family and not just work collegues.

My work experience
I do all the mechanical as well as minor electrical work . My day would be attend to break downs or servicing machines (preventative maintenance. ) from here I would order spares(liase with suppliers. I could be turning up a machine part , welding up brackets or even changing out a motor. I do not have a maintenance team so a main focus (my challenge ) would be for me to know the production schedule to priorities. Here's where were I've learnt communication on all levels is off the utmost importance.. I enjoy sitting with le projests or improvements. My most challenging aspect here wasnt the actual mechanical work but more on getting the people (operators) inputs.. to also think outside the box....

Attend to breakdown,

Rheem is a great platform to learn skills and teamwork they give u an opportunity to learn
When first I arrived in this company I was a student from college I got an apprenticeship with them they taught me a lot of things and it is indeed a great company to learn new skills.
