Fast learner

I work shift, two day shifts and two night shifts per cycle. I'm a fast learner. I have a good relationship with my co-workers. I can work under no supervision. I can work under pressure. Things that I have learnt: Do risk assessment before starting the job, do the job according to standards and regulations, do housekeeping after finishing every task, working with a team and be a brother's keeper, working under differend weather conditions, working over times and I have learnt to do a toolbox's talk before starting the job.

Pros: Great opportunity for promotions, gaining lot of experience in different plants and having four days off
Cons: Long working hours, working under different weather conditions, working over times, being moved around to different plants and lost of dust during windy conditions which reduces the visibility

Fast learner

I work shifts, two day shifts and two night shifts per cycle. Fast learner. I have a good relationship with my co-workers. Things I have learnt : to do risk assessment before starting the job, to do the job according to standards and regulations, do housekeeping after finishing every task, do toolbox talks before starting the shift, working with a team, be a brothers keeper, working under no supervision, working under pressure, working under different weather conditions and conducting inspections at the beginning and the end of the shift.

Pros: Great opportunity for promotions, gaining more experience in different plants
Cons: Long working hours, working over times, working under different weather conditions and reduced visibility due lot of dust during windy conditions

Plant operator

I'm a shift worker, I work two day shifts and two night shift per cycle. I have learnt a lot since I started working here. Things I have learnt working with the team, doing the work according to the procedures and standards, working under no supervision, working under different weather conditions, doing risk assessment before starting the job, doing housekeeping after every task I perform. I have a good relationship with my co-workers and if I'm not sure about something I ask them because they have lot of experience than me. The challenging aspects is working under windy conditions because there's lot of dust were I work and the dust reduce the visibility.

Good company Services

I have worked with Instrument Mechanicians and Technicians on plant and learned a lot from them. They are all good at work and work as a family. I have learned how to calibrate transmitters such as pressure, level, and temperature. I learned how to install solenoid valves with timers for compressor receiver tanks. I learned how to operate pneumatically operated valves. The most challenging part is that whenever there is a shutdown, you push yourself to learn because everyone gets busy and there's no time to ask. For PLC programming, I'm still in progress on learning to write a PLC code. I see an improvement because now I can do basic programs such as Traffic Light code, On-Off codes, and codes involving timers and controllers. Regarding troubleshooting skills, I have learned some tips, especially for transmitters.

Excellent training

It's a good company to work for and they put safety as number one priority of the company. I work with Technicians, they coach me in some of the tasks. They do not spoon feed me but they teach me to hunt for knowledge so that one day I may be an independent Technician. Beyond training, we work as a family, respecting each other and sharing some jokes at other times. At other times I learn some things for myself and present to my technicians, and they judge if my research information is inaccurate, then I fix it and represent until I get it right. They correct me if I am wrong and compliment me if I have done something right. I have learned to Program a PLC, planning before the task. I enjoy talking about instrumentation tools and devices in the field and how they interact with one another in the plant.

Pros: no opportunities because i'm still a trainee
Cons: Working normal hours but overtimes sometimes whenever that is long shut down.

Enjoyable but hard work required

Demands a lot from its workers. Needs experienced individuals as I deal with Managers and Supervisors, so discipline is required, kknowledge and experience. Great environment to learn how to handle people mostly. Its kind of a job that brings out the best in an individual as you meet different people and their personalities.

I'm a positive learner

the most challenging on job is the leaking of safet,because safety is more priority.safety must be taken seriously anytime yes we do need production but without safety not because we have to avoid the unecesary breakdown.

Pros: i deserve a good promotionbecause i'm a hard worrker
Cons: to give your salf the enough time of resting will help to minimus the injuries

It is one of good companies when coming to carrier development. They are trusting that if people are given a chance they out performs themselves. They are serious about the safety of employees. They have train me from a mere fitter to job Scheduler, Assessor, and I was on the road to be junior mechanical planning.
