Excellent exposure and learning curve

I have extensive experience of more than seven (7) years in conducting policy research work, and worked as a Senior Research for the Council for Medical (CMS) where I was responsible for drafting policy research studies and also providing both data analysis, statistical and research support. Prior joining CMS, I worked as a Biostatistician for Wits Health Consortium (PHRU) where I provided statistical support to Phase IV clinical trials. I have extensive working knowledge of statistical packages such as SAS, STATA and SQL server. My interest is in research design, data analytics. I am also involved in assisting post graduate student in the drafting and data analytics of their research work and have assisted more than twenty (20) MBA students from various academic institution. I believe that I can add value to your institution and trust that my application will be considered.

Experience gained

The department I'm working in gave me a broad view of what the finance department deals with from calculating the premium a member is charged to sending the email to the client and communicating and negotiating a payment plan for the client and it is satisfying when a member sticks to the agreement and makes payment on the premium which means that communication was effective and the client is happy with the product and services provided. It gets tough when a member refuses to make payment and we have to strategize on how we are going to collect the money and use legal terms to keep the client on their toes then send letters of demand which the member eventually pays and I have a good team as we assist each other with queries especially where there's a language barrier between ourselves and the clients.

I worked as a succsessful administrator for 5 years

We administer work mans compensation for Metal and Mining employers. We work as team in order to deliver excellent service the first time. I have learned insurance products offered at the mines.

Exceleent Learning Curve

My job entails me reporting to the Group Finance Manager and Chief Financial Manager daily. I have learnt a lot about the Finance industry through the tasks I complete for the especially through the CFO reports that we submit to EXCO, Audit as well as to the Board for approval and noting. In idle time, you become involved in many different projects, as they allow each employee a fair chance to get involved in projects within their department. I have mostly enjoyed the exposure I have received whilst working with the Tender Bidding Committee. The most challenging part, yet enjoyable, of my job is that ensuring that you complete each task with the best of your knowledge, usually as this is a constantly growing company, we are given tasks we have never done before or worked on previously. This teaches us to constantly ask questions when working and grows your skills matrix.

Learning and developing communication skills

I started as a intern for a duration of SIX (6) months. I was then employed for one month.It was such a great l and fruitful learning experience to work at such a great company. A normal day will start by checking my email and responding to urgent emails as well as massages,followed by eating breakfast for a 10 minutes and then go on with my workload. The co-workers were welcoming,very helpful and friendly.the atmosphere in the office was great in such a way that we still keep in-touch. I learned how to work with other people and how doing your work in time help other co-workers to also complete their workload on time.how to conduct myself in office environment and very importantly how to prioritize. I enjoyed working as a team, even though I work well and fast on my own.Department outings were great. The challenges of the job would have been dealing with difficult customers.

Development and Growth

I am a highly motivated and extremely committed person. I ensure that any project I undertake achieves high success. My extroverted and optimistic personality assists me in achieving my objectives and goals. My confidence and ability to work independently together with my sense of responsibility, inactive and willingness to cope with challenges should be an asset for any post. I handle pressure extremely well and I am deadline driven. I am goal orientated, organized, systematic and meticulous and a disciplined person and therefore professional in my approach and efficient at the tasks I am required to perform. I am competitive and always determined to succeed and give total commitment to whatever I do. I have 11 years working in the Financial institution being a Sales consultant, Customer Consultant, Receptionist, Contact Centre and currently Claims Assessor

Should never joined the company.

Individuals are given the power to do as they please without regard of the impact on employees. Employees are overworked and under appreciated. My direct supervisor is a well known toxic and vindictive individual and the company does nothing to protect employees. This company is the worst company I've ever worked for.

Cons: Long hours, Dictatorship style of leadership, Poor quality of operating system, Lack of leadership and lack of industry technical knowledge at management levels.

Rand Mutual Assurance

IRand Mutual Assurance operates under a licence granted by the Minister of Labour to underwrite injury on duty claims for mining, iron, steel and metals, known as Class IV and Class XIII being the latest business acquisition since in March 2015. With the recent development to assume administration of CLASS XIII, the company must consider the realignment of its core business process to ensure they are efficient, effective and support the Strategic Objectives of the company. To ensure that this is done correctly, RMA must assemble a team to undertake the policy renewals project to ensure this provides for the financial sustainability of RMA and its service providers as mandated in the legislation while delivering on its business promise of Caring Compassionate Compensation to its customers.
