Ramsay Engineering Reviews

Experiance

I am currently employed as a Project Engineer at Ramsay Engineering. I have completed My National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Working at Ramsay Engineering has given me the tools to succeed in the automotive industry. I currently work in the design department where I liaison with the customer to ensure the components Ramsay produces is of the highest quality. The Team at Ramsay works on Projects for Toyota, VW and Ford to name a few. This has allowed my knowledge on Automotive Production parts and machinery to grow exponentially. I also work on internal projects which entail costing, specification and positioning of machinery. I have been trained in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) as well as Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA). I have experience in technical support where I have to keep the line operating effectively and efficiently.

Pros: Great learning experiance and exposure
Cons: Long working hours

Experience, benefits and people

I have grown and learnt so much in all aspects of human resources management. I have grown to love the people I work with. No two days are the same because I am involved in various activities. So based on the need I could be doing interviews or induction. I could be attending meetings for employee related matters or planning the training for the month by liaising with the managers. I could be assisting the clinic on issues of counselling or escalating their concerns to higher management. I also could have meetings set up woth employees to discuss their various claims or if there are any other queries management or the employees may have. My day can be fast paced or relaxed depending on the tasks at hand. I enjoy working and helping people. I love being able to make them happy. The challenging aspects would be when you cannot meet their demands or dismissals.

Pros: Exposure for learning is exellent
Cons: Salary and benefits are limited

Very good continuous improvement skills

I have gained so much experiance on the aspect of process improvement and waste elimination. Ramsay engineering has a lot of manufacturing departments, which include; projection welding lines, CNC machine and pressing machine. This therefore exposed me to being able to tackle on constraints and improve them. However, I use to struggle whenever I need assistance from maintenance team as well as the management head. It is with the approval of management that projects would be successful, in terms of finances and provision of manpower. Yet, in many instances the company was failing to do it, requiring that I push so hard by organising meetings and sending mails in order to give picture of the importance of a project, which delotivates mostly. I am also not happy with the working enviroment, I am placed on the manufacturing floor; where there is extreme conditions not suitable for one who deals mostly with data analysis as it is one of my responsibility.

Pros: Ramsay engineering provided good opportunity for learning
Cons: Poor working environment

I learned a lot and it was worth it.

Well I am currently unemployed. Work was great and the people I worked with were kind and friendly, kind and helpful on a lot of levels. I have learned how to work effectively on corporate level and how to interact with clients on a professional scale The challenging part of my job was that time was important so deadlines had to be met accurately.

Pros: personal development
Cons: long working hours

It is an environment with pressure activities all the time but a very good place to gain experience.

Ramsay Engineering is a big company with very experienced employees but they do not offer benefits from the salary pay. As a young industrial Engineer this is a very good place to build your career to learn and contribute your knowledge. When you practice your individual skills that is where you learn the most in a work environment.

Pros: Great place to learn
Cons: No benefits
