Gaining of experince

I do a lot everyday, capturing and submission of reports. I do daily cycle counts of the stock which enables me to know what our stores have on hand and what we need to order from a suppler or request what we urgently need from a supplier. I learn to always be papered and organised at all times. Fast moving parts must always be available. I am very close with all my colleague especially my supervisor. he says that I am a fast and competent learner, since I have arrived at Putco Ltd he has taught me a lot about how bin locations are labelled and packing of parts/materials for easy access. I have gained a lot of knowledge concerning store/warehousing. we also have a WhatsApp group where we keep each other updated of any concerns in our stores department, even our manager is included. in fact he is the one who came up with that idea. Thank you.

A basic day at work

My day starts off with problem solving of the previous day and planning for the day ahead. by doing this I have one on one meetings with my foreman and then attend green area meetings with staff. I believe if you are actively involved at floor level that you will have a much clearer picture of areas that are problematic and areas that are overachieving. With that information you can assist in other areas where needed. I enjoy planning something from scratch and seeing the end result being successful. Getting everyone to have the same goal at the end of the day.

A great place to learn new things

I look forward to each and everyday of work because I get to learn new things everyday from the mistakes to asking co-workers when facing a challenge on my daily job because I can perform within a team or as an individual. I perform both minor and major services on busses and also to prepare them for COR, it is very exciting and fulfilling at the end of the day to know that a bus that I have worked on meets the road worthiness requirements because of the work of my hands. I have learnt a lot as a diesel mechanic, especially as a woman working in a male dominated industry, having to diagnose faults in a vehicle and fixing them. I enjoy doing preparing busses for COR and my challenge is working with weak people who don't believe in themselves.

I prefer learning new things as a way of building my HR career.

Duties: Processing Engagements, Termination, Promotions & Transfers In accordance with company policy & procedure and conditions. General HR Administration e.g. leaves administration, Provident Fund, COID, UIF & Medical Aid. Liaising with Commissioners regarding Disciplinary hearing & representing Company at CCMA. Liaise with internal & External Stakeholders.Ensure compliance with the applicable SA legislation i.e. BCEA, LRA, EEA, SDA and all SDT HR Policies Implement Recruitment Policies. Provide guidance and support to managers on Employee Relations Matters. Administer Payroll. Training & Development. Knowledge of HR information system. Prepare Quarterly & Monthly Report . I work in a team of 4 where there is good relationship, we share ideas and there is good communication. It challenging position with new daily challenges.

Gathering experience

I maintain buses by doing minor repairs such as air leaks,water leaks,oil leaks,do brakes systems like replaces brake pads or shoes and other systems like suspension,steering systems. I am a fast learner who's eager to learn and grow in the industry

Pros: Best place to learn the trade also manual labour and to learn to diagnose without fency equipment
Cons: staying on one section for a long time
