Expose to physical and technical sales concepts

It was essential to actively build a solid rapport with co-workers to provide a fun/energetic flow. Activations were at malls, universities, private functions, night clubs, pharmacies. It was important to understand product dynamics. Eg. premium tech devices require concise communication of hardware/software features where luxury alcohol sales need an approach of oppulence and exclusivity. An essential component aswell was communicating key features of a product without loosing the client's attention. Physical sales techniques I learned were use of posture, tone of voice, facial expression and reception, usage of hand gestures. I enjoyed interacting with the clients and the events we were part of; private concerts, sports events, opulent night clubs, university festivals. There has been an issue of language barriers in areas where multiple vernac tongues dominate english.

Cons: Employees are viewed as one large machine, thus individual brilliance goes un noticed

Excellent way to gain experience in the industry

Working at Provantage was one the places where you learnt to do more with less which was one of the things my project manager use to say to us. As much as we were expected to deliver intelligent and outstanding marketing but we worked at the most unworkable places like Pinetown rank where there are a number of dangers to outdoor promotions. When elected as team leader you had to make sure your teammates were safe without cause any kind of person feeling out of the team. It was marketing at it's best . For me I would say my challenge was transport for evening shifts which dented alot into myself as there was no transport money provided

Relationship with co-workers

A typical work day being a sales person for Provantage Media group is ensuring that we meet our daily targets that are being set out by our supervisors and the management, my relationship with my co workers is the best we get to share our experiences and be able to motivate one another

Life of a retail sales person

Encountering with new people each day can be difficult as they are not easily convinced on what to purchase with their own money, co workers makes the day go by well as it can sometimes get too quite on the business side, I have learnt that in life you must be open to new views and be willing to listen to what others have to offer you, most challenging part about my job is meeting target even when business is on rocket roll

Pros: Meeting new people everyday and engaging with different stores and challenges
Cons: Working on a Sunday is never an easy thing to do.

Excellent and insteresting and learning curve

I get to meet different people all the time and the thought of working and communicating directly with people and login their queries and reason king with them changes how u look at life and things .

Pros: working at my own pace and no 8to 5
Cons: long hours outside..weather can be a factor

Can be a good experience if used to the right people

Its a company where you can gain experience then leave. I would not advise anyone to settle in this company because there no benefits and limited to non opportunities to grow.

Good working environment

It’s a good working environment and the people are awesome , however there is limited opportunities for growth and promotion . The working hours also are too long .

Great team work

Our company has great team work and allows me to learn about stakeholder communication because we work outside talking to people about the brand. The are great people in the campaign that makes it easier to do our work.
