Great learning opportunity

My typical work day started before 7 am> it started with going through the night shift report and capturing production data. At 7 I would have a meeting with shop flat the production floor problems or just doing walkabouts to ensure everything is in order and going according to plan. My relationship with my co-workers was great. I am a dedicated peaceful and respectful employee who stand her ground. I have learnt too be more patient and to uplift fellow co-workers and teach where I can. I enjoyed interacting with the floor employees and picking on their brain with regards to our processes. The most challenging was the workload and jugluing everything by myself especial when there was a crisis.

Pros: Friendly/welcoming employees and fellow co-workers.
Cons: The working conditions

New challenges

07:00 to 09:00 writing of permits, upload permits into system, daily plant inspection until 13:00 with half hour lunch, then paperwork until 16:00. Some overtime and December shutdown work. Learned a lot about paint and why it is expensive. I have and always have had a very good relationship with all parties but get along with the floor worker very well. I always build a good relationship and it is all about trust. I enjoy the training I give the best and the most challenging part of my daily routine is the permits I have to issue

Pros: Working for PPG global
Cons: Permit issuing

Great experience

I completed grade 12 during da year 2010. Went to Tshwane university of technology in 2011 were I studied a diploma in analytical chemistry..spent a few years there living in the university resident. Applied for an inservice training and was hired as an intern for a contract of one year at a company called prominent paints. After completing my in-training, I was hired as a technician up to this day. I have worked there long enough to have built fruitful relationships with people I work with. We face challenges daily and have to come up with solutions daily. We make corrections and rework damaged products. We focus on cost savings and quality at all times.

Pros: Learning independence (working alone)
Cons: No opportunities

New experiences, new learnings

I have learnt a lot about the paint industry and the challenges that it faces. Different environment and machinery and a fast culture range. The Standards of this oversees company is in a big way the same as say Sasol and the OHS act is basically covered in their requirements

Pros: It is an International company
Cons: Safety culture still has a long way to go
