Success as owner manager of my own company

After 4 years in the private equity sector I decided to chance my arm at my own business. After an extensive due diligence process, marketing research & business planning I decided to invest. The restaurant traded for 2 years and was a great success earning a 4.5* rating on Tripadvisor & ranking at #16 out of 55 for the area. The business sold within 2 weeks for a significant profit. Duties – Recruitment, Staff training, Purchase agreement set up, Licensing processes, Sales, Advertising, Design, PR, Pricing, costing, supplier negotiation & management, full finance function, food preparation & business sale.

Pros: A true life, working example of business management & real Finance Management in the real sense.
Cons: No family life due to business hours.

Massively rewarding experience

Prodicron (Pty) Ltd Aug 2014 – Apr - 2016 Owner/Manager. Restaurant, catering, supplies franchise business The Indian Oven (Pty) Ltd based in Hout Bay Cape Town. After 4 years in the private equity sector I decided to chance my arm at my own business. After an extensive due diligence process, marketing research & business planning I decided to invest. The restaurant traded for almost 2 years and was a great success. Wage Negotiation, Recruitment & training, Purchase agreement set up. Licensing processes, Direct Sales, Advertising, Design, PR, Pricing, costing, supplier negotiation, full finance function, food preparation & relationship management.

Pros: Highly rewarding & lucrative.
Cons: Awkward working hours.
