Private Practice Reviews

A "little big practice"

I currently run my own "little big practice". What I mean is that I very rarely have private clients, but when I do - I work my utmost hardest to change people's lives for the better. I get good results but have little exposure at the moment. I am good at helping people overcome obstacles and enjoy a much more fulfilling and effective life. I see private clients at my home. I see about 1 client a month. I am easily able to build rapport with all clients (a skillset I have used in my previous jobs as well). I have had many jobs before, as I tried to build up my portfolio for a career in psychology; however, I have now reached a point in my life where I would like to settle down and find a full-time job - preferably in a coroporate setting.

Pros: I work for myself - flexible hours.
Cons: Little exposure and a lot of competition in East London

Excellent environment

I currently work for a private practice and it's been a gold experience being in the health care. I've learnt alot and become patient and learnt to do new skills. It's always business but I currently enjoy working there because it does not only allow you to be admin/ receptionist but also teach you new things. We are only two work colleagues. I enjoy working with new people everyday and learning new stuff not only from my colleague but from patients as well as the doctor

Pros: Great opportunity to explore and learn new skills
Cons: I only work 6 hours a day

I work with different types of people with different types of personalities.

MAKE SURE ALL PATIENT INFORMATION IS CAPTURED THE TEAM NORMALLY JUST FINDS TIME TO TALK AT LUNCH BREAK BECAUSE WE ARE EXTREMELY BUSY I HAVE LEARNED THAT PEOPLE ARE DIFFERENT AND YOU NEED TO ALWAYS STAY CALM AND LISTEN BEFORE RESPONDING. I ENJOY SEEING AND TALKING TO OUR MUCH OLDER PATIENTS AND CLIENTS CAUSE YOU ALWAYS LEARN SOMETHING NEW FROM THEM EVERYDAY. THE CHALLENGE WOULD BE DEALING WITH A CLIENT OR PATIENT THAT NEEDS EMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE AND I CANNOT HELP BECAUSE THE AMBULANCE SERVICES ARE NOT VERY HELPFUL.

Pros: Making money to provide a better life for my family.
Cons: Working long hours and not being able to spend enough time with my children.
