Good learning curve

Logging calls on the Service Manager system, and assigning calls per technical requirements to the relevant team. Resolve IT queries/calls on the phone/remotely,and if unable to resolve escalate to relevant department. Add and remove users on the the Active Directory,as well as resting passwords. Capture invoices and place orders for procurement of any IT/Technical equipment daily. Receive equipment procured and do assets tagging and verification the the assets system. Setup projector,laptop,Skype/video and teleconference meetings daily. Replace toners for the printer/copy machines when they empty,or need replacement. Troubleshoot any IT related software/hardware issues. I have good communication skills,i always try to give users feedback on any issues they log with me as i believe communication is important. I learnt that Communication is key. I enjoy interacting with different people daily. Challenging aspects is being unable to resolve an IT issue, mostly because of hardware failure.

Pros: Great opportunity to learn new technology
Cons: No promotion

Excellent growth and learning

The radio industry is a high-pressure environment where your day is unpredictable from one moment to the next. Coming from a print and digital industry I have learned a lot about radio, and how audiences receive information. I've worked with inexperienced colleagues, and colleagues who have been in the industry for more than 20 years. I have an excellent relationship with all of them, from the interns to the on-air radio talent. I've learned to lead a diverse team, to motivate colleagues and organise around the news agenda and what audiences want. I enjoy the thrill of being live on radio and passing on information to audiences across the country. The most challenging aspect of my job has been working with a small team, but trying to fill hours of radio time and shifts.

Pros: Working with young, dynamic people
Cons: Keeping staff motivated in the face of sliding revenues and staff shortages.

Encouragement

I started temping as a receptionist for 2 months as I was on contract basis, the reason that made me to love to work for the current company, I find it vibrant as people around it are very down to earth people they work very hard, overall they are easy to deal with but they are very strict when it comes to their work that they have tasked you to do. What I enjoy most is I gained experience in most of the things that I didn't do previously as I was promoted to being an Admin Assistant till today I'm still an Admin Assistant. I thank all of them for their encouragement and support.

Pros: Great opportunity of growth
Cons: n/a

A learning. Company

A brand new experience for me as i have never worked in Radio before. What stood me in good stead was my admin skills and client relationships. I also enjoy working with other departments to learn more about the business as a whole and observe how the end product all comes together.

Pros: A young and dynamic company
Cons: Relationship with boss and some co-workers. Having to play small. Unfair treatment in the workplace
