Good learning experience

Designing of new products. · Designing of test machines and equipment. · Rectifying inferior or old designs. · Involved with rapid prototyping of new components · Set up and designing of characterisation and durability test rigs for new components fitted to Articulated Dump Trucks. · Working with strain gauging, pressure transducers, load cells, displacement transducers, data acquisition loggers, and vehicle CANBUS. · Performing Dynamometer testing of engines and transmissions for certification. · Carry out fault finding, preventive and pro-active maintenance on machinery (mechanical components, and hydraulics). · Co-ordinate and plan major jobs and breakdowns, optimising machinery performance and prevent recurring breakdowns, and carrying out with projects. · I also have some experience in the control systems and electrical field.

Good learning experiences. Helpful people.

Good learning environment. Helpful engineering staff. A lot of multi tasking which isn't compensated for. Poor communication from Upper management. People are kind hearted and always go the extra mile. No pay for overtime. Company pays school fees for kids. Pays for our studies.

Pros: Small size company which you can grow in.
Cons: Less pay for more work.

Good

my job is getting things done in a right way inspite of pressure or not. relationship with co-workers is absolutely fine with the understanding of each one's duty at hand, it is working together as a team and respecting each other at the same time. I have learnt to work under pressure with no chances of breaks at times to due the commitment I have on getting things done right because time lost can never be replaced. I enjoy house keeping because its makes things easy for everyone, its encourage everyone to work accordingly with no time wasted. the most challenging aspect of my job is to create a mentality to a person that quality starts with you, it is doing what is right even when no one can see and giving more than what the customer expert.

Good

it is very nice the relationship with colleagues the experience I gain daily in terms of communication working along with each and every single worker as I do my rounds of roving inspections even though at times it gets hard with the supervisors as they want to push production to their level best at all time as a result its not always easy to come up to an agreement where I sometimes have to stop production for quality disputes and health and safety measures
