PPS Investments Reviews

Great environment

Flat structure. You are known by your first name and not just a number. Great support structure We are like family and we each need to pull our weight as we are a relatively small company in terms of size.

Pros: Great bonus structure
Cons: Growth

Learning curve

A typical day would be qualifying leads, loading financial errors, facilitate new business instructions, train IFA's n assistants. My relationship with my co-workers is close. We are like family. PPS investments has that culture of looking out for each other.I have learnt a lot about the investment field, sales and relationship building. I enjoy most being appreciated by brokers for going the extra mile for their cases or instructions to be completed efficiently. The most challenging aspects of the job is being dependent on third parties on how effective can you be in your job. As I do not process instructions, I am dependent on the operations department to deliver good news to the client. Even if I can ask for favours it won't happen if operations says so. Now the relationship built with the broker will be tested.

Pros: Experience in business development and administration
Cons: No growth to be unskilled further

Great exposure to the industry

I have been given the opportunity to work in HR for a year. Starting off at PPS Investments as a receptionist. The team I have been place with have been very supportive, not a day goes by where we are not laughing. We always make sure that there is fun at work. My HR manager provides a great platform for me to grow and gain more experience in the department. The challenges are the vacancies which we have a deadline to fill. That process we have less control over as we good candidates are difficult to find. What i have learnt the most in this department is that one needs to be neutral at all times and confidentiality is key. People will want access to information and will manipulate you to get it however one needs to be firm.

Pros: Gaining knowledge
Cons: Contract coming to an end

Learning in progress

Having to adjust from studying Library and Information science to having to go and work in a financial industry ha not been easy but because i am a fast learner i believe i am a learner in progress. but most of all the best highlight i have to admit is having supporting co-worker who do not laugh at my downfalls but assist me instead.

Pros: Gaining experience in another field than mine
Cons: Financial industry can be frustrating if you no academic background thereof

3 years in the Investment Corporate environment

I work for a client centric company that is focused on providing service to a niche group. My typical day is assigning cases to the relevant departments and ensuring that the work is distributed evenly and always focusing on meeting SLA's We are a close knit company and always go the extra mile. staff love to engage and interact with each other and assist each other I have learnt the value of team work and building good relationships in an effort to meet all internal and external expectations. At times the job requirements have high volumes but I enjoy working under pressure and rise to the challenges.

Pros: Constant opptunites for learning and growth
Cons: Understaffed
