PPS Insurance Reviews

Excellent learning curve

My job is to provide service to clients' changing insurance needs by selling life, health, and disability insurance. Together with marketing specialists, we approach qualifying clients by utilizing mailings and phone solicitation. I determine client's particular need and financial situations by scheduling appointments to determine extent of present coverage and investments, and prepare quotations for clients. I enjoy being around them, they make me feel welcomed and, assistance always provided when needed. I have developed good communication skills, as well as selling skills, working with people and ensuring long-term relationships. The most challenging aspects of this job is not setting appointments with them nor convincing them to take products, but ensuring that they come to the appointment.

Pros: Great opportunity to learn and grow
Cons: Restricted to professionals

Beutiful humbling experience

PPS Insurance has a very beautiful culture of sharing and of sisterhood/brotherly hood environment. My typical day as a Learning & Development Consultant consists of providing training and coaching to all business divisions in the company, including sales and distribution, actuaries, HR, etc. I also conduct training on a needs analysis base, and also for compulsory modules like compliance which is a requirement for the company. I also have projects that I manage. It is paramount that I spend majority of my work time happy and working well with people. I have learnt that with the right attitude and willingness to learn, anything can be achieved. I enjoy problem solving, learning new things, building relationships and interacting with people. The most challenging aspect of this job is working extremely long hours and weekends sometimes.

Pros: Interacting with people
Cons: Minimal growth

Excellent learning curve

I have a panel of 35 brokers and every day I meet 3 to 5 brokers. I often go on joint calls with the brokers as this has proven to be very fruitful. I spend 1 hour a day with my assistant . We go through all my cases and any issues that need priority. I have learnt systems and procedures as this speeds many processes . I have also learnt that it is very important to humble oneself as in the sales industry our customers expect to see and speak to a down to earth honest person. I enjoy meeting different people everyday. I enjoy the freedom and flexibility of my current job. I enjoy chasing a target every month. The most challenging aspects of my job are 1. To keep all my advisors happy 2. To maintain strong relationships with these advisors. 3. To treat each advisor the same 4. To keep advisors happy even this may be a daunting task at times .

Pros: Good
Cons: Long hours

HARD WORKING AND PASSIONATE INDIVIDUAL

My current employer is a very professional company, and work is very hectic and busy. Most times, the atmosphere is tense, as there is a drive to being super productive. I get along very well with everybody in my team, as well as with fellow employees. I have learnt immensely in my new job in 2017. Prior to this I worked for 5 years at Hollard Group Risk and my job entailed wellness and disability in the group and company sector. At PPS, my clientele is professional individuals, which is more challenging to service. I enjoy the high risk and constant pressure. Most days offer a new challenge, which keeps the job exciting. The reason for this application is that I have enough disability and claims experience and would love to move to wellness. Employee wellness has always been a strong passion of mine, as I was involved in wellness programmes at Hollard. I would much rather implement strategies at keeping employees healthy and well and remaining at work, rather than situations leading to a disability claim.

Pros: Opportunity to learn and grow
Cons: The culture is extremely rigid and strict

Excellent learning curve

PPS is a very good company to work in. The exposure to different fields. As an insurance company providing services to professionals, personal development is the biggest key to its employees. There's always a budget for one to do a specific course that will benefit the company in return.

Pros: Opportunity for growth
Cons: Travelling distance

Not an excellent job

There is a learning curve in the process of seeking employment. There are lot of things that you can learn from different department as it is a big company. I have learnt lot about facility coordinator. there is also a true when the behaviour is learned such as skills and improved by practice. Also know how to speak to your coo- workers. I also enjoyed by figuring this on my own. The most challenging of the job is being given a task and didn't even understand what you need to do. It is a great job as working with lot of people.

Pros: Great opportunity
Cons: 9 hours

Good cultural check

There is a good family culture and people enjoy working for the company. HR does a lot to increase engagement and retain staff although the leadership of PPS is that where Managers expect staff to get on with the work and the communication is not great between levels of staff.

Pros: great culture
Cons: poor communication
