A very passionate individual that loves credit.

We such a small group in our department(5 people) handling the entire credit aspect of the business. We have many Branches in SA and our foot print is growing in Africa. A typical working day starts by attending to emails any credit control issues etc. Since we are a small team we relate very well with one another.We always look forward to a day in the office.Must say a very good group to work with. l have grown from being a credit administrator to being a fully fleshed credit expect learning directly from the Group Credit Manager. l enjoy the most credit reporting,the reports we compile after month end closure and enforcing the PPC credit policies across the board. Having to deal with the legal accounts is definitely not for the faint at heart its quite challenging indeed but have learnt to sail over it and now l am a pro with regards to collections and liaising with the attorneys.

Pros: Great working environment in our department
Cons: Chances of growing are slim for a young person as senior people are comfortable and working for their pension...So you will wait for years to grow because of the Group Credit structure.

Great exposure

In my current position I report directly to the Plant Manager and is the Head of my Department (Risk) with one employee reporting directly to me (System Administrator). I am also responsible for the SHE management at both our Mines in the Eastern Cape and the PPC George Depot in George. PPC provides an opportunity for employees to grow and learn as much as possible. People become multi skilled and able to function effectively in the working environment

Pros: Great work culture and benefits
Cons: Slow advancement in my current field
