Working with elderly

I believe in an open door policy and was always available to the elderly members and staff to discuss problems and find solutions. The Dienssentrum was always a hive of activities like baking vetkoek or pancakes, playing Bingo and Rummicup. The members visit the hair and beauty salon and I enjoy helping them to find books in the library whenever I had a moment to spare. I always endeavor to keep my relationship with co-workers professional and relaxed. I have learnt that every person needs encouragement and love. I enjoyed the quality times spent with the elderly to make each day a memorable day for them. I enjoyed taking them on outings and short holidays. It was also most enjoyable to arrange Christmas, birthday, and other functions. Most challenging was adhering to budget and strict financial controls. To provide a lovely balanced meal a day to the elderly.

Pros: Working with people. Using loads of initiative.
Cons: Emotionally tiresome - small salary
