My first job after moving to Joburg. Learning a lot.

My typical working day involves receiving stock from suppliers, checking that they match our orders and then scanning them into our system. I meet and interact with new people on a daily basis, learning something new everyday. I work in a team of 7, with each of us bringing something different to the team allowing for a co- cohesive team.I have learnt a lot since joining Plumblink, especially as I am at the main branch which supplies the whole Gauteng region. i have had to learn the C-Quential system which has been interesting.

Pros: Having been taken over by Bidvest, there are opportunities available.
Cons: I want to grow and learn in the I.T field and currently cant do that working in the warehouse.

Learning curve

I am an ordinary person working normal hours and with good relationship with my co-workers. I have learn that pertinence is virtue and take everyday at work as a learn curve. What I enjoy the most is to assist client and they are happy with my service and most challenging aspect with my job is when clients did not find what they were looking for

i have 90 suppliers i buy from budget per month R 5million I negotiate deals for contracts on pricing to make better margin on jobs do Return to suppliers on aged stock communication in this position is key as the sales person and customer needs to know if their will be a delay in stock to avoid penelties i plan and order inadvance on quick sell out items as a buyer u need to be one step ahead of the customer and salesman ... if ur preferred supplier dont have stock a backup supplier must always be used to avoid dissapoinment on stock outs i have done a short course in Procurement at Damelin and passed with a distintinction
