Monitoring and operating the plant, plant audits & optimization, laboratory &pilot plant test work.

I’m currently working as a Metallurgical assistant at Platinum Mile Resources which is a tailings retreatment facility, retreats certain tailings from different mines by flotation process. Control plant to stabilization, monitoring and interpreting trends. Monitoring thickeners by making sure that they don’t slime and checking the reagent dosages, manual density corresponds with the scada 1 in the control room. Ensure that all employees adhere to mine safety rules and regulation. Attend Morning Meeting getting feedback about the plant from night shift, making sure that all employees fill in their risk assessment book before they do any work, ensuring that the checklist is done, discussing about our PGM (results from the lab), how to improve our plant or any changes that was made at night concerning the plant. Update from the notice board any change to inform the employees.

Looking at going into more cooperate metallurgy

A typical work day runs from 06:00 - 19:00 every day and I put in a few hours of work every Saturday and Sunday as well. My job is challenging and what I love about it is the dynamic everyday challenges it possesses, every day is a new challenge which must be handled differently. I have learnt to handle pressure extremely well and keep a composed head through difficult periods. I have a good working relationship with my subordinates and have built a highly motivated team who always go the extra mile to assist me and the company. I continuously coach and motivate my team on a daily basis.

Pros: Great opportunity to go into both metallurgy mixed with business to complement my MBA

Work is plant operator ,control room , great tesm leade,player,team work and sarety awareness, hardworker and eager to learn, report writing and presentation and communication and interpersonal skills.
