Good working environment, working under understanding emplyer

Working at pick n pay is very good as I have learned new things within the business like ordering,receiving,stock rotation within the isle and dealing with different type's of customers on the daily basic.working under family store were every employee feels at home as we all know each other.working in a retail store has though me to respect people despite their colour or how thy are,and again you not allowed to judge customers you need to be patient wen dealing customer especially our senior certizen people grannies and grand father's.the are some other challenges which we come across as employees of retail store like dealing with a difficult customer who does not wana understand as customers always say thy are always right,but as an trained employee you will have to calm the customer.I enyoy what I was doing most of which is ordering and capturing my day to day roaster,I also enjoy being a family at pick n pay.

Excellent

It is nice because I knew what's wrong and wrong, always smile on your customers, give them 100percent care, be honest and loyal to your superiors. They must trust you.team work with my colleagues. Helping each other where we can..good characteristics. I enjoyed team work with my cashiers, we where like family, taking care of each other,helping each other,being there for each other, even though sometimes some where fighting but we made sure that theres peace between them.we worked odd hours with small capital but we never complain because it was for the best. Challenging thing was when u short at your till,from R10 upwards, the boss fire you.I've learnt that team work and hard work pays off

Excellent learning

I'm Lucia Precious I am a full resident of kabokweni ZA,I have been working in the retail occupation for more than 12 years,currently I am employed as a frontline manager,managing more than 30 employees,I have an extensive management experience.

im a hard worker and friendly person who able to work in under presure,im a preson who grow up in poor family in a rural area,im a single mother who always take a responsible for every step i take,im always in take at work and challenge any situation with costomer and im enjoying to work as a team,you will hear more from me thank you

Good learning experience

We arrive a work at 4:30.we are unerstaffed,overworked and underpaid.i have the best co workers ever and we all get along really well.i stated working at the Bakery without any experience but im glad to say that today i have gained more knowledge and experience. I enjoy baking now and even at home i bake for my friends and family. Time keeping is a challenge because sometimes the store opens late and that makes us to work undepressure to deliver the product in time for customers before opening.

Pros: Great learning experience .
Cons: Long working hours and they are not paid as overtime.
