Great Company, not much growth

My career has led me to specialize increasingly in the management of complex multi-cultural projects and their staffs at all levels. I have experience in: observations and capture candidates responses, write copy for job advertisements and postings. I write brief overviews of their companies and describe skill requirements, benefits and application procedures for jobs being advertised. I may use previous job postings as templates for new advertisements, compare salaries, benefit packages, turnover and retention rates to industry standards and those offered by competitors, generate statistics to describe their organizations' workforces and recruitment, selection and hiring activities, reference checks, job offers, acceptances and employee orientations, sourcing through different channels,

Daily arget and multi tasking

*I have learnt that you need to be calm and focus when dealing with a difficult client,and escelate the matter to superiors if it's above my strenghth. The most difficult time is when working late shifts and you get to be few answering calls and attending queries of withdrawals and deposits.. The most typical time is when a customer cannot provide proof for any payment they have made and still persue assistance.. My realtionship with co-workers has been in a primary level with the most of them but it all felt like being home with my family The enviroment is quiet hectic it's everyman for him self since each worker has their own target they need to reach in a day.. I've enjoyed learning about other departments and how they work although i have never been roasterd for them..

Pros: Great opportunity for being promoted
Cons: Night shifts that begin at 14:00 until 22:00

I enjoy working at my current company, unfortunatly there is no growth thats why i want to leave

I purposely wanted to start my career working for a small firm because in a small firm one gets to do a lot of things and see the whole financial cycle through, as oppose to starting in a big firm and only specialising in one thing for a lot of years. I did my Saipa articles with a small firm called Bosele Business Consulting in Rustenburg. I’m currently working for Phumelela Gaming and Leisure for the international finance department where I deal mostly with foreign currencies and interact with countries abroad mostly. I work as an international debtor for the parent company (Phumelela) and a local creditor for one of the subsidiaries (Telly track), I’m in charge of the four of our bank accounts (the euro, pound, US dollar and Australian dollar) which means I do everything from invoicing to cash books, debtors reports and management account, I’m also in charge of the intercompany account between Telly Track and Phumelela.

Pros: Good expousre in terms of the finance field
Cons: No growth

Work Life Summary

My typical work day is a busy day than normal whereby I have work independently most of the time and do everything from preparation to end day production, taking the pictures and sound to the viewers and making sure that there aren't interruptions, but I also work on other studios someday with co- workers providing assistance and basically taking orders from producers as to how to do different compared how I would do when I work alone, and I can say that my relationship with my co-workers is awesome and I grow a lot from working with them and I also learn new things like how to do split screens and which race to take when dealing with multiple races at the same time. I must say that I enjoy that our times are flexible enough and we learn to think outside the box when production is delayed due to system challenges or other factors, and the most challenging part about this job is that sometimes you can loose audio from the on course team in the middle of the production but its not an everyday thing.

Pros: Flexible working hours
Cons: Sometimes because of monotony through repetitions one can loose interest

Work experience

I learned so much working for Phumelela gaming and leisure, especially in the customer care decision. I used mostly my computer literate skills and telephone etiquette stupendously. I also shared values with my co-workers.

Excellent a learning curve

Working at Phumelela is amazing give so much opportunity to learn and grow as an individual. I feel its time I learn from others in a different environment and also add what I have learned. I've discovered my strongest strengths is that I'm able to work very well with a team helping others hand in hand.

Excellent learning experience, in Horse Racing

I have an exceptional relationship with my co-workers. Always sharing a laugh or two, as the day begins and throughout the day. I have learnt that each one of us has been employed to perform a specific function in this industry and as challenging as it is, we need to always maintain a strong level of respect for each other and be willing to help each other. The tranquil environment, with the horses training. Being able to see these beautiful creatures. The most challenging, is when the trainers are waiting for results of draws and I have not received it via email.

Gaining experience

I love working with my colleagues. I am team player. Achieving target goals. Facing difficult customers. What I enjoy is getting tips and learning new procedures of the company. I am very passionate about my job and I am a hard working person.

It's a great place to work the hours are fixable however the salary is not enough

I take bets since the company its about horse racing so I'm working at the call centre take bets over the phone and if they need further help i transfer them to customer care or banking department

No challenges

I have been with the company for more than 3 years, all i needed was to be promoted to IT department as time goes by i dont see any challenges in what im doing now.i haw a feeling that im waisting my energy and i need more. I have so much potential. Thank you Phumzile Ndima
