Opportunities to grow while being stretched and challenged. Also opportunities to work around the world and in different departments which means one has an opportunity to learn and understand all aspects of the business.

Pros: Learning new skills while applying existing ones
Cons: Everyone is sometimes more worried about performance ratings and no lifelong relationships are built

Learning curve

Interested in a new venture. Was great experience working there. No growth opportunities. Untrusted relationships amongst peers. No balance or care for personal time

Coming from the Giants of the game i.e Coca Cola to the Company that the Brand is not known

I started in Eastern Cape focusing in East London and North of Transkei, the Brand in those areas was not known so i had to fast track the education and penetration with success and I had to set my own objectives on top of the Company ones and I succeeded on that, then they moved me to do the promotions Coastaly to try and reverse the decline in the direct stores.

Pros: I'm learning different cultures

Stable environment

I am currently an acting manager of five colleagues. I have learned to prioritize my workload. I present to senior management on the team's performance occasionally.

I learned about the tobacco industry in South Africa and its challenges of illicit trade.

During the day we met with venue owners to influence them on stocking our brands and in the evening we went out to check on activations and new possible activation venues. We also went out to push all our brands at major events both locally on nationally.

Pros: The is still so much one can do to grow brands in this country.
Cons: Budgets always seem to be a problem.
