Park West Gallery Reviews

Excellent learning curves and travelling

Our day started at 6am. Me and my team had to set up our art auction event. Then I did a seminar at 11am followed by an auction at 1pm. Which normally ended at 3pm. Then break down and starting at 6pm with appoinments till about 11pm. It was long days and we as a team had to work close together. Also working with 64 different nationalities every day for 9 months at a time, enrich your life in ways that will take too long to explain. Working for Park West was one of my best decisions. Their training program in sales and marketing are one of the top in the world. I learnt new techniques, how to listen and manage a diverse team of all ages. Being away from home for 9 months was sometimes difficult. On board you live in a kind of bubble which doesn't include normal day living. You always have to be friendly, energetic and share a cabin the size if a closet.

Pros: Meeting people from all over the world. Every day you learned to think on your feet
Cons: Not being home for so long. You loose touch with your friends and family

Interesting Lifestyle

Great company to work for, although the employees are not as open and willing to communication. Its an excellent chance to travel and see the world, more importantly it enforces discipline, and you learn not only to manage your own duties but additional safety procedures that come with working on-board a cruise ship.

Pros: Great travel opportunity
Cons: Erratic working hours

Working and Travel

Work and travel. Selling Fine Art on all major Cruise lines is not only exciting but also rewarding at the same time. Working every day for 6 months straight is not for everyone. If your mind set is not where it needs to be, you will have a tough time. I fortunately am sell motivated and target driven. There's no better feeling than Upgrading a client sale from $50, and closing them on $15000. The sky is the limit

Pros: Work and Travel, Great Commission
Cons: Being away from family.

Great international exposure

I have worked for Park West Galleries for the last 2 years, the last year was as a Gallery Director aboard cruise ships. I was responsible for planning and implementing an effective art program as well as managing and training a small team. I have enjoyed working in this position and have learnt a lot about sales, people management and administration. I enjoy planning and implementing marketing strategies and generating new sales opportunities. Due to my outgoing personality and ability to relate to people at all levels, I was able to be successful in my position and was promoted to Gallery Director within a year. I am particularly proud of this achievement as i was the youngest Gallery Director in the employ of Park West.

Pros: Travel opportunities and management experience
Cons: Long working hours and far away from home
