Parity is a highly professional organization. I know I could learn a lot from them.

I, as a contract employee, enjoyed my stay there, and was very impressed with their commitment to ensuring that all of their people resources were always assigned to income-earning activities, wherever at all possible. They run weekly resource planning sessions on a weekly basis to do this, using the EPM (Enterprise Project Management) tool to do this, drawing down the individual assignments per each resource directly from all the active project plans to compile a short-term (2-week-horizon) view of how each employee is any of fully, partially or not assigned. Any in latter two categories, the employees are then assigned accordingly to execute work tickets in the service and support areas, or to take study time towards achieving Microsoft Business Partner required certifications. I've seen this done at other organizations, yes, but never to the extent and scope employed at Parity.

Pros: 1. The resource-planning methods described, tend to keep the Project Managers constantly on their toes, ensuring that accurate and reliable assignments are constantly updated into plan. 2. This makes PM's directly answerable to the Executive team each week as the project progresses through its lifecycle.
Cons: 1. Efforts are underway within the company to improve methods to ensure that the actual work booked by the employee's (drawn from timesheets) maps back accurately to the assignments agreed in the Resource-Planning sessions. 2. From my perspective, this will be a "first" if they get it right, so I'd really hoped to stay around and see what they eventually accomplish. 3. Unfortunately the lockdown brought my 12-month contract to an end 8 months earlier than was envisaged at the start.

Ultimate accountability

At Parity I have the opportunity daily to manage HR projects and implementations as if it was my own business. I get to work with customers big and small, local and global across various industries. The parts I love is helping companies align and establish better HR practices for the benefit of their companies. I am to enable through technology to help meet current needs as well as have the building blocks for the future.

Pros: Great remuneration and incentives, great opportunity for learning and managing HR projects
Cons: Long hours, system challenges and sometimes no easy / available answers

Good learning

It's a good learning experience on knowing how Sage X3 works in the business environment. The current career path might be too challenging if you aren't starting off with a career. My position is more suited for a graduate or a person with 1-2 years experience and low income requirements.

Pros: Good learning experience for learning business systems
Cons: Long and non-billable hours
