Flat management structure

Optivest is a medical scheme broker with the largest number individual medical scheme members in SA. The company experienced huge growth in the last 6 years, with the typical challenges that comes with that. - A very flat management structure - only one owner, with middle management that are responsible for the operational actions on a daily business. - Since we have an official COO, it has helped the company to really establish a sound business plan and every single staff member has contracted Key Result Areas. - Making decisions in the company is relatively easy as you only need the sign off and approval of the CEO to implement - if you manage to sell your concept to him. - The biggest challenge is to get the management team to work better together and understand each others' KRAs and objectives and to adhere to each other's SLAs.

Pros: One can really embrace the opportunities to grow with the business and to play a role in establishing the operational efficiencies needed to achieve the company targets.
Cons: No real promotion opportunities in business as management structure is very flat.
