Fast-paced routine work

A typical day at the aftercare requires me to complete the register for over 80 students and contact parents for any absentees. Along with my colleagues, I ensure the children eat lunch and get to their sports. I take grade 4-7 students for homework. This entails assisting students with queries and checking that all work is complete. I provide supervision for the children playing and deal with general concerns. The teachers have to monitor access to the facility, as well as make sure that children are being collected by a known parent or guardian. Each of the teachers take turns to lock up. The staff are amiable and reliable. As of yet, I have not experienced any conflict with my colleagues. I have learnt to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and make sure each task is completed. I enjoy explaining issues and providing clarification to the learners. The most challenging aspect of the job is that children constantly push boundaries and it often feels like I spend most of my time repeating myself.
