A typical working day in the Employee Benefits call centre starts at 8:00 am, and as soon as the lines open clients start calling in to query their pension and provident funds. There would be a constant influx of calls during the day, so it would be one call after another. What I enjoy most is the happiness and appreciation expressed by a caller when positive feedback is given. The most challenging part of the job is the complaint(s) received when a client is not happy with the feedback provided, or because of the long wait in the queue on a very busy day. The team is a really tight-knit team. Everyone has a mutual respect for one another, as we all need to work well together to get the job done. I've learnt everything I know about Employee Benefits, including how to manage my own personal savings for my own retirement one day.

Excellent learning curve, with added experience

Dealing with walk in clients on a daily basis, processing, investments, annuities, funeral plans, life covers and unit trusts.. Meeting deadlines and making sure that my SLa is always on 100%

Pros: Great experience gained
Cons: End up on working overtime with no pay

Stagnant career paths

This company has a high turnover of staff. The management team are not all good leaders. You do so much work but never get the credit. Favoritism is seen in all areas. It's not what you know but who you know that counts here.

Pros: Bonus once a year
Cons: Expected to work long hours, work life balance is non existent. Managers are not leaders.

It's was an excellent learning curve with experience because now, I know how to process alot of things, How to deal with angry clients on a daily basis. How to handle pressure and leading a team when told to do so.

Urge to archive my goals

I am managing to work and archive my targets without pressure by diarising all my work down. I am likely love to work with the team to learn about the skill and professional ways to deal with the new businesses targets the most challenging part its when you dont manage to honor the appointment because of not having transport

Excellent company to work for.

Contract positions.. Hood experience gained in different divisions o. Hood learning curve, working on multiple business tools. f Old Mutual. Good contacts made in the various divisions. Hoping that opportunities become available in the future.

Not an easy envornment. high level of stress

Challenging , not enjoyeble, you are always warried as the sinior managent threatining you. do this or else pack your bags and go. only the strong survive. endless meeting with no way forward. it like when you go to those meeting your giong for trial and you have to defend yourself as an advisor. they have bad employment retaintion. every month they will hire a new employee as stay resign almost every week.

Excellent learning curve

I'm actually unemployed at the moment, however the last professional occupation I had was as stated above with Old Mutual SA. I had to.put that information since your template couldn't allow my unemployment status. I would manage sales and sales consultant. Set up sales targets and a work plan on how to achieve them. Employ and motivate staff. Learned that cooporate interactions are dynamic and interestingly different. Major challenges is seeing people through their difficulties in productivity and helping them through
