Northlink College Reviews

Good experience

My typical work day consists off starting in the Panelshop with my Students who does their Practical courses and depending on which day off the week I also have classes with my other students doing their theory courses only and therefore only attend class for a 2 hour period during the day. I work with a wondefull bunch off fellow Lecturers and we assist each other with whatever duties or tasks may arrise. Its a very rewarding work (not financially) asspecially when it comes to working with the less fortunate and aspecially young people who requires extra attention and who has different needs .the heartfelt greetings with smiles and the good buys at the end off each day grows on you.

Pros: 4 paid Holidays a year
Cons: a very small sallary with no company benifits

Excellent working condition because everyone is united and eager to learn from each other

In my workplace, everyone is the same because we all aim to reach the same goal of keeping the company in good term and work effectively, we have a strong relationship that is able to help one another in any form so that work can be easily for everyone. I have learnt to respect everyone whether in lower position or not, how to communicate with a wide range of people, taking care of me in the workplace and company policies and regulations. Taking care of company things, doing work under pressure are things that I have learnt. The most challenging part I have experienced is to get work at short notice that I have to finish at a certain time while I already have things to do, but I managed because the type of work that I'm doing I have always passionate about doing it.

Pros: To do specific job that was not intend to be done by me or no one to do it at a specific time, then get some reward on that.
Cons: working long hours without being paid.

I have a great opportunity to work for Northlink, I have work in different departments.

I am typing all day 40 words per second, I type sending and receiving the emails, capturing the absenteeism of the students, capturing the new applications, and typing the minutes of the meetings.I work with my co-workers very well we all work as a team if we have a target of work needs to be done at certain time we all help each other to get done to what is needed at the time.I have learn to not to waist time at work, I need to reach the target and the goal at all times, I have learn not to do anything that can put the company in a bad publicity.I enjoy working with students, they are different and they come with the different families, and I enjoy different culture, race, age.The most challenging aspect is to be accurate at all times if you done any mistake you will make the problem for the students not to write the final exams.

Pros: I was working as a general assistant and I was promoted to be the Administrator
Cons: you choose to work overtime as you want to finish your work in time

My review, knowledge and experience in the Education Sector.

Good day I work at an Education Sector in the central office which consist of 12 portfolios’ and 7 decentralised campuses. The college Mandate is to provide quality education and my responsibility is to ensure that all staff is working towards the that one goal and continually improving the college policies and procedure to also attract businesses from the SETA's and other stakeholders. I have a very good working relationship with all staff. I mostly enjoy conducting audits and surveys. It provides me with an overview of how education is facilitated and an opportunity to evaluate and measure the college processes. I always carry out my tasks/duties with a great determination, am a fast learner and enjoy new challenges. I hope this short review will provide you with an insight of my responsibility in the TVET College. I hope to hear from you soon. Sincerely yours Khanyisa Rasi 0781719310 Khanyisa Rasi

Pros: Unfortunatately promotion is very slow in the Education Sector unlike the corporate world. I have also grown to love Quality and that's where my focus is.
Cons: I am very committed to my job and always willing to go extra mile, at times i work long hours to ensure the task at hand is accomplished.

Overall Experience at Northlink College

Customer service orientated and close knit team. Influx of students and the public meant being busy at all times. Staff respect and treat each other with kindness which is the best working environment I have experienced. Learning new things outside my portfolio like procurement and academic matters creates a more holistic feel to position description. I enjoyed the interaction with students, parents and staff the most as I am a peoples person. Challenges besides daily and weekly deadlines are external factors out of our control, for eg: Waiting for the physical resource department to follow up urgent requests.

Pros: Stable and secure
Cons: No Growth

It's good learning environment

I learned a lot of things, since I started at the bottom as intern. It been great experience and everything I guess. I'm currently working in debtors so I'm working with different customers and different characters. Some they are very difficult and stubborn. So I learned how to work with people with different types of personality.

Pros: Good opportunity
Cons: Normal hours

Good learning curve for starting in the career field

ne was always an inspiratiWorking At Northlink College:It was a good learning curve and improved my skills in the workplace as well as helped me gain good interactive skills and confidence in the workplace. I also learnt how to work very well under pressure and get work done fast and accurate, the most challenging part about the job was doing odd jobs including network issues and server problems, working with the camera systems and giving instructions to other interns...one of the bigger challengers was running the day to day jobs at a Technician level on a full campus alone for a year and getting to work with the Higher Ups. Best part of the job was working with the Staff at the college, sometimes there would be misunderstandings but most of the time we got along, the team work is impeccable and the willing to help and put in the extra work to get jobs doon to me

Pros: good for improving confidence and workplace ethics,Staff members are well trained to work together and get the job done quick and accurate, excellent improvement in the confidence of your work, teaches punctuality and how to manage deadlines properly
Cons: tremendous stress, doing work that does not fit ones job description

I am a hard worker and knee to details also have good listening skills.

My relationship with my co-workers is impressive and I always enjoy to be among them. I have learnt lot of administration work from Northlink College. The most challenging aspect is the time of registration, because we deal with hundreds of applicants a day.

Pros: There are less oportunities that I can be promoted
Cons: 8 hours
