Northdene Preparatory School Reviews

Excellent learning curve if you are wanting to go into teaching.

My everyday starts with a day to day roster. All colleagues have their own roster to follow. Its an aftercare/ day-care centre for children after school hours for kids aged 5-13. We start at 11:30am and our days ends at 5pm(mon-fri). We are a very busy aftercare with 25 staff members. The relationship with the staff are really good. We have our ups and downs but mostly laughs and joy. The children come in at 12:45 and we feed them and get started with homework. After homework is finished, we get games out for the kids to play and open up field for them to run around and stay active. We look after them until parents come pick them up. I have learnt so many things about kids. Their fascinating stories, how to deal with the children emotionally, how to keep calm in bad situations and most of all our motto, Love, Order and Discipline. The thing I enjoy most about my job is seeing those beautiful, innocent smile on those kids faces.

Pros: great opportunity for experience with children
Cons: half day, part-time, student position.
