Excellent learning curve

Brilliant company. Good to see production to learn and to apply your knowledge. 2 shifts a day, it is a manufacturing environment so it is less formal.

It was a great introduction to the world of work

The environment is very family orientated. There is a lot of support. You are responsible from day one, so you're not a typical intern, you actually get exposure to what you studied towards. My relationship with my co-workers was good.

Excellent learning curve

Learning opportunity

I work as a junior designer for a tile manufacturing company NORCROS SA under Johnson tiles. The environment here is very friendly however most people how work are the older generation so there are few young people to assoiate with. My typical day would be to colour match tiles for production and develop new products/designs for tiles. I enjoy the people around me and the friendly faces. The challenges are when the factory breaks down in terms of the motors and it stops production causing delays. I would love to venture in a more youthful and challenging and has room for growth opportunities.

Great financial exposure

I started out as an intern, then was given a permanent contract within 3 months due to my performance. There are 3 divisions within one company and ive had the opportunity to learn from each one. I was exposed to Creditors, Debtors, cash book and assisting the Financial Manager with reports and was delegated cyclical reports of my own. I assisted in Budgets and Forecasting, and have indepth experience on compiling recons.

Excellent Learning Curve

Immense Pressure on a day-to-day basis, Work alone in an office so do not get to engage much with co-workers, Have learnt independence and how to engage with directors and executives as a compliance officer and company secretary, Enjoy doing my work in peace and quiet, Most challenging aspects of the job is the constant work pressure and non-compliant employees.

Good company to work for. Great learning opportunities

My typical work day is a very busy day. I have an excellent relationship with my co-workers. I have a lot from my company especially managing a warehouse. I was provided with training and was given a lot of opportunities to grow. I enjoy my job as I have a passion for warehousing.

Stepping stone and learning curve.

I currently work with a very small legal, governance, risk and compliance team being myself, the company secretary and the legal director. We cover everything in the legal and governance department and conduct all necessary training's. I have learnt everything that is to do with corporate, commercial and compliance in this office which I have the pleasure to enjoy. The legal department previously only constituted of the legal director and therefore, the most challenging aspect of the job is the communication with other employees who view the legal department only to cause trouble for them rather to teach and ensure compliance.
