Excellent learning curve

Very fast paced. Attention to detail is very important. Giving proper instructions and proper hand over is extremely important as this is a 24 hour operation. Liasing with oil companies on a daily basis. Absolutely interesting. Everyday is a learning experience. Problem solving skill and decision making is vital.

Pros: Great opportunity to learn about petroleum

How to meet deadline inbetween 2 positions

I work in a very demanding and pressurized environment as I handle task for both HSEQ and Operations. I interact with drives and staff members closely. I have a great relationship with my colleagues and differentiate work and work social time. I learnt to prioritise my daily tasks from these two positions in a way that keeps me busy and meet deadlines without having to be asked for reports. I enjoy being busy as learning for me is an ongoing aspect which I enjoy. The most challenging aspect of my job is when there is a serious incident but I am able to prioritize my tasks and work the extra hours to catch up at times, but I still enjoy my jobs because there is never an end to gaining knowledge which I enjoy thoroughly.

Pros: I gain knowledge daily
Cons: There is not much room for improvement internally

Ideal Candidate

Marlini Naicker With over 15 years of Book keeping experience, I am hardworking, dedicated and ambitious. Extremely meticulous with attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines with ease. Work well both independently and as a team. Currently have ten team members that I supervise or manage and we all have an excellent relationship. Over the years I have learnt that communication and building relationships will definitely assist in ensuring a smooth flow. I enjoy multitasking and being proactive to ensure my success as well as that of the department.

I have gained experience in sage pastel

Good day Employers , We supply and transport fuel to customers. Its a great experience working with fleets im terms of capturing Drivers kms and wages.I have also learned to use the c track programme. I have a great relationship with my co workers as we work as a team. The best part about my job is being given an oppotunity to learn in operations as well. The most challenging aspects will be keeping up with Time management. I am working around that. Regards Shantal Marimuthoo

Just work and feels like a one night stand

You work because you enjoy your job, there's no close associations or proper delagation of duties or support to help do your work effectively. Effort is not rewarded. There are no benefits or renumeration of working after hours, holidays or sundays. Certain rights are taken from you.

Pros: To earn a salary
Cons: Long working hours and no compensation for overtime

Excellent learning experience

Work commences before entering the premises with employees waiting to discuss or query an issue. Enjoy working with people. Every day it's a new challenge. Salaries to check and capture. Keeping track of disciplinary inquiries. Got on exceptionally well with employees on all levels.

Pros: Enjoy Payroll.
Cons: Inconsistent policies and practices. Disciplinary inquiries

At Nonke Petroleum I signed a 1 year contract from 2018-2019.

As I was doing learnership of 12 months its was a nice experience answering calls,welcoming our visitors,capturing on the system now I am no longer working as its was a 1 year contract we agreed on.Being there I learned lot of things like how to work well with others, how to solve problems effectively and efficiently.

Pros: No opportunity where there but you were gaining experience
Cons: Normal working hours
