Cold Calling, overcoming challenges

The company I work for has grown in size quiet quickly due to the market growing and more people finding about the product. My job is field sales, so on a day-to-day bases we would go to any place we can find smokers and try to talk to them and explain what we do and what the smoking device does (cold calling). The best part of the job is that we are a very close organization when it comes to the co-workers. We constantly do team building exercises to make sure that we know each other. I have learnt a lot about the laws and regulations of the tobacco industry. I have also learnt a lot about tobacco and how nicotine gets released. I love cold calls. I love the sales aspect of my job. I love talking to new people and hearing their stories. I lived in 5 different countries so hearing about their stories is my favourite part of my job. The most challenging part of my job is getting people to listen because of their experiences with other smoking alternatives.

Cons: Long working hours

How to work under pressure and push my limits

I managed a great team. The work load was a lot but I worked at it the best I could. That was my biggest challenge. I do enjoy working and managing the sales. I've always been good in the sales field. And have maintained being an excellent leader and manager as a whole.

Pros: We had an excellent product that changed lives.
Cons: Working the job of 2 people and being paid for only 1.

Great stepping stone into sales.

We have to be 45 minutes earlier than the time we start in order to set up and do a stock count. My colleagues are very helpful and I enjoy the fact that we work well together. I enjoy the fact of actually convincing a customer to buy a device. I personally like challenges hence why I enjoy building up a conversation with a customer to buy a device. I think one of the most challenging aspects of my current job is to actually market the devices and convince the customer because most customers might just say no. It is difficult to convince them but I learnt that there's also ways to go around the conversation with a customer which actually leads to a sale.

Pros: Good learning opportunities.
Cons: Long working hours.
