Challenging, growth and eellent laerning curve

Ensure up to date methods of preventative maintenance programmes are in place and updated • Ensure installations done by contractors are compliant with the OHS act and design specifications • Perform regular inspections on mission critical equipment as described by manufactures and installers of the equipment • Financial planning and budget control of the department expenditure • Managing the section human resources • Managing the process, reliability and configuration management priorities • Developing and implementing long and short term objectives and direction of the section • Advising and guiding staff regarding technical decision to be taken • Managing the training and authorization of personnel • Capital planning and expenditure for the department • Cost recovery control for work not included in the SLA • Quality assurance on buildings, structures, infrastructure

Great exposure and experience gained in all areas of Purchasing & Supply as well as reporting.

I am a diligent and highly motivated individual who seeks to explore a new function at your company. I am very passionate about all aspects of holistic Purchasing and Supply Management. I can cope successfully in stressful environments and situations whilst solving problems creatively. I work well independently as well as in a team as all my duties and tasks currently require me to work either independently and with various teams being EXCO members, Unit managers, Suppliers, Regional Managers, Outsourced companies in house, Ward PA's. On the Independent side that would include monitoring and managing stock levels for Cleaning, Stationery, Medical Consumables, Furniture & Fittings, Curtaining and Blinds, Medical equipment, Linen, Uniforms, Issuing of stock to all departments within the hospital and ensuring that I always have enough stock.

Pros: I have great managers who aknowlege my work considering the amount of duties I have taken on since I began working here in 2008.
Cons: There is no room for growth as I have reached my peak and I need a challenge.

I have been able to gain experience

Working for Netcare is a very pleasant experience. The job that I do is basically answering the switchboard and directing calls to the right departments. I deal with different types of people. Some are very kind and polite, some are extremely rude. But that has taught me how to handle all types of people without losing my temper. The people I work with at Kingsway Hospital are all very accommodating. They made life easy for me even from the first time I arrived. Even the management is welcoming. I enjoy helping people a lot, not just the patients but also my colleagues. The most challenging aspect of the job is when Patients expect me to know everything. But I use that as a learning experience because I make sure that I look for the info until I find it.

Pros: SInce I work as a switchboard Operator, I get to learn new things everyday. I even know how to admit patients, etc

Limited growth

Being in the HR field is quite exciting and I learn a lot daily. Assisting clients and employees with personnel and service delivery issues daily can be challenging yet developing at the same time. I have built good relations with co-workers and colleagues, working well together in a team and reaching success as a group. Diversity in this company has become quite a challenging factor to accept and embrace change and difference, I have learnt to understand the expertise and skills of the people I work with which has made it much easier for me to adapt and work more effectively. Not having the platform to take initiative and decision making, hinders my growth and development which is a challenge not only at work but for my career as a whole. I really enjoy working with people, embarking on new projects and contributing to the success of the company as well as the lives of the employees, clients and community.

Personal Growth and much to offer to any organisation

I have been employed at Netcare since 2008 and I am always recognized for always implementing new ideas to try and increase efficiency and save costs in terms of using JIT for e.g. My work day involves ordering of stock. I issue stock to all departments daily and issue detailed reports at month end to all depts showing trend analysis with graphs so it is easy to monitor increase in spend. I have an excellent relationship with all staff from Cleaners to H/O. I visit supplier sites to ensure best service. I enjoy all the positive feedback I get from all levels of the organization as I am very pro-active and meet the needs of all requirements. I thrive on challenges and controlling of linen would be my greatest challenge currently. I continuously research and keep close relationships with suppliers so that I am always aware of market trends, changes and new introductions in the Purchasing and Supply sector.

Pros: I always get recognised for the hard work and extra time that I devote to my Job and I am always praised by all levels of management.
Cons: I cannot apply for any position at my current place of employment and I need to further my studies and I am in search of personal growth .

Exceptional growth and development

A typical work day includes general overview of the floor, cleanliness and order, ensuring all scheduled staff are ready to open and serve customers. Checking that stock controllers are busy with their daily tasks. Daily reports are printed, checked and any discrepancies are investigated. As the person in charge of the retail pharmacy good relationships with co-workers is a vital aspect to ensure teamwork. I have grown so much as a person and the managerial skills that I have grown and developed have given me tremendous confidence and taught me how to multi task and problem solve. I enjoy supporting my staff and I enjoy reaching targets. The challenging aspect of my current position in retail is that it can be very unpredictable and you always have to be ready to think on your feet.

Pros: Opportunities for growth are always there.
Cons: Vacancies take extremely long to be filled and creates pressure on other staff

Good learning curve

it sis a pressurized environment as we are required to make revenue of 400k on a daily basis there are also lots of hinges as the pharmacy does not do credits on time and the wards do not bring down files on time they donot not adhere to the 48 hour turn around time....I have learnt a lot in this position as in comparison to the medicross clinic I worked in the hospital has given me much more exposure and experience I have been an excellent team player in this regard because it is important to liase with my other collegues about any information that I might know...

Pros: no opportunity for promotion
Cons: we work 8 hours a day and overtime on weekends only if the need arises

Good learning curve

Confirmations of auths for all patient's admitted in hospital Excellent relationship with co-worker as a team making sure that all accounts are paid accordingly learning to multitask and handle pressure when short staffed I enjoy being able to solve a problem on my own with no supervision The most challenging aspects of the job, not being recognized when the is an opportunity for promotion

I enjoy payroll and have not been in payroll for 8 years as I am currenlty doing only HR functions.

• All HR administration and related duties to ensure compliance to CSA (audit protocols) • Support HR Practitioner/s in terms of general personnel administration (HRSSC) • Compile Employment Contracts and ensure timeous submission to HRIP’s and Team Leaders • Medical Aid/ Retirement Fund/UIF and IOD queries • Disability (Ill-Health applications and correspondence) • Staff loans (study/home loans) • Co-ordinate the approval for filling of positions and attend to the advertising of approved vacancies • Co-ordinate recruitment and termination documentation – co-ordinate and submit to HRSSC • Co-ordinate the administration of leave • Typing of all relevant documents including letters to unsuccessful candidates, appointment letters, response letters to external parties, etc. • Filing of documentation in personal files • Assist with IR issues • Participation in HR Projects • Co – ordination of Orientation • Staff night visits

Pros: New venture, wanting to go back into payroll.
Cons: Nothing.
