Nestle Reviews

Lack of decisiveness results in missed opportunities.

Many learning opportunities through small international teams where best practices are discussed. Freedom to work from home. Most challenging is the inability of Line Managers to think big picture due to lack to long term strategy or vision.

Pros: Being part of International working team
Cons: Non decisive Executive Team

Good learning ground with plenty of opportunities

My role is to ensure consistent profitable growth for my brands. 1. I frequently interact with advertising agencies to ensure campaigns and activities are on track. 2. Also engage consumer insights team to understand trends and new insights. To ensure flawless execution, I communicate frequently with Sales and OPS teams for campaigns which are running. 3. I do trade visits biweekly to keep abreast of competitor activities to observe and understand category activities In FMCG space, no two days are the same; the complexities one deals with as a Brand manager can vary, however every action and decision has to be for the greater good of the Brand, Consumers and ultimately, the Business. I love the creative problem-solving process that this work entails whereby one can be creative in terms of solutions they can provide to shoppers and customers on daily basis.

Pros: Great growth opportunities
Cons: Been too long with company

Overall experience and great learning environment

Well, first and foremost, I would say the company’s overall reputation drew me in. I’ve been in marketing for more than 6 years and in Supply Chain for 3 years. Nestle has always been seen as a leader in health and wellness and very enthusiastic on CI initiatives. A very high performance culture supported by employee rewards and recognition. The company values people and promotes work life balance.

Pros: Multi national company
Cons: slow growth opportunities

One team and 100% engagement.

At shift startup I perfoem line inspection to ensure that everything is still onits normal state. We do a shift handover wiuth outgoing shift. I also attend daily review meeting. I work well with my team, helping each other in problem solving in order to minimise machine stoppages. I learnt to listen and respect other people ideas. I enjoy brainstorming as it improves the level of commitment in what ever actions we agreed on. Projects on new products and materials, having to adjust present equipment to suit the changes.

Pros: Learn new things every day (eg TPM methodology)
Cons: Many actions with tight deadlines

Dynamic Environment

My role is cross functional, I work closely with all the other departments including warehouse for receipts of material, QA department for quality checks and release and mainly applications for product development and production to provide them with material support. I have realized that being a center of production in a factory, everyone expects you to know everything about every other department, which not only helps me personally but it also brings efficiency in the process and ability to identify gaps easily. I usually find myself between a rock and hard place, since I work in a factory but i represent Head Office in ensuring production requirements. Sometimes it becomes a challenge to ensure factory efficiency against production plans. All in all it's a dynamic profile which makes it more interesting and without a good relationship with suppliers, you do not stand a good chance to succeed especially if you working with dynamic demand as well.

Pros: Being in the middle of it all, provides an advantage of understanding the entire process quictly and ability to resolve issues faster. Once also stand a good chance to grow faster in the supply chain function with this handful knowledge and ability.
Cons: You must be willing to work extra hours even weekends without additional pay. You must be willing to use your own resources in ensuring supply of Materials and ensuring production run.
