Nedbank limited Reviews

Talent Management best retention strategy

Nedbank takes people development seriously. Career development discussions are held twice a year after formal performance appraisals discussions. Employees are given opportunities for growth through training programs which are also used for succession Flawless Consulting used as a tool for relationship building and complex relationships management. Coaching for growth for HR as a tool used for newly appointed managers with lesser experience in people management especially with regards to employee Onboarding. Human Resources team learning and leveraging off one another I enjoy people development the most, seeing employees grow from being Graduate Trainees or Bankseta learner to being a Trusted Business Advisor is priceless The most challenging is the New HR system introduced without getting the business ready. Still at a teething stage with a lot of technical errors

Pros: Lateral growth opportunity with exposure to different environment from the Finance, Business Intelligence environment to the Operational environment
Cons: New system increased admin work which resulted to long working hours finding yourself leaving the office after 9pm Monday to Friday

Ne

Daily interactions with Landlords initiating negotiations, following up on proposal, querying and resolving building issues, negotiating tenant criteria document for new premises, preparing and vetting leases, arranging sites visits and meeting and rental surveys. Over the years in my current job I have developed a skill of deal analysis with a global view. I now view a deal within a Portfolio rather than a building. Mt deal are not based on surveys.

Pros: Limited due to structure of the Property Portfolio within the Bank
Cons: Standard hours, sometimes long if there is a pressing matter

Good culture and a nice place to work

Working at Nedbank is comfortable. There is a family-type culture here with a lot of good people. It doesn't have a very "driven" culture yet, and is almost a little too relaxed at times, but things are changing for the better. Leadership and management needs to be improved and staff morale needs perking up.

Pros: Family culture
Cons: Can be boring

Great foundation of my career in IT

I began my career in IT at this company - wonderful place to work and learn. Great company culture in terms of work ethics and human capital development and financial rewards. Great exposure to many areas of corporate world. Most of the staff I worked with have great interpersonal skills therefore I enjoy working with them. Unfortunately I feel the role I am currently employed (Computer Operator) for is not fulfilling for me at a personal capacity as I feel I am doing less than I am capable of and hence I am looking to challenge myself more (learning and developing new skills and keep existing skills sharp) and grow.

Pros: Vast exposure to many different IT systems and elements.
Cons: Too much routine work - boredom sets in over time.
