Job Description at National Cancer Registry

Everyday work description: Data Clerk/Administrator Clerk Duties *Background in Databases *Cleaning & Formatting Data on Microsoft Excel 2007 *Capturing Data on Microsoft Office Access Database 2007 *Capturing & Filing Ekurhuleni/Pediatric Patients on CDW Portal (Oracle) database. *January 2015, joined the Events Committee with National Institute of Occupational Health. In the new year 2017, I will be working on the population base for Cancer Registry on CanReg SQL database. Relationship with co-workers, work well with my co-workers,especially when it comes to working in teams if there is a project given to us. Lots of patients, reading, understanding different ethical groups and researching about different cancers. The flexible hours. We work in one space office, so the challenges are, constant noise from my co-workers, no privacy, there is only so much you can learn about different types of cancer and especially no growth in the department

Exellent business writing skills and office management

Typical day at work would include extensive diary management and drafting of letters for the executive department. Follow up on contracts from procurement and scheduling of meeting for the CEO and DCEO. I try to maintain a professional relations with my colleagues - being friendly and polite is very important at times i need to be firm with them as i am required to gate keep the executive department. I enjoy helping my executives in making important decisions that affect the whole organisation.

Am on probation at the moment and looking forward to learn a lot

in the progress of learning the law firm about the complaints lodge by the consumer, debts counselor, follow up on cases and quires. The organisation is full of young stars and is vibing Work load is a lots but we learn to adjust and priorities i enjoy customer relations and reading the complaints on people got robbed or engaged in to scam so far now challenging am new here but i have found backlog

My typical day at work

taking care of the CEO and DCEO demanding calendar, arranging meetings and making appointments. drafting compliance notices to credit providers and debt counselors, arranging complex travel for the executives, analysing credit bureau stats for the CEO and doing research work. I have a very close working relationship with my fellow colleagues - respecting one role and responsibility is very important in this organisation. I enjoy assisting my executive in making important decision that affects the national credit industry. The biggest challenge in this organisational is the slow pace of the department sometimes it can be hard to get things done and done efficiently

Cons: saying no, sometimes i find it hard to turn down people who need my help

It allows one to develop and grow both academically and personally.

I conduct workshops and presentations; participates in road shows based on the needs of consumers. I respond to queries and requests that will assist consumers with debts and finances. I conduct radio presentations/interviews on the National Credit Regulator. We learn a lot from one another from exchanging and sharing information amongst different departments. I learn new things everyday and I am developing and growing personally as well as academically with every challenge I come across with.

Pros: Making a difference in people's lives.
Cons: Extensive travelling
