Excellent learning opportunity

I'm currently employed as the Environmental Manager for Group Five at the Transnet NMPP Terminal 1 facility in Durban, previously employed as the Transnet Environmental Officer at the same facility – i.e. a multi-product petrochemical terminal transferring fuel between the Durban harbour and Johannesburg. My previous work experience is at the Eskom Medupi Power Station Project in Lephalale - where I was the appointed Independent Environmental Control Officer. My ability to interrogate scientific data- through legal requirements on my various projects (i.e. surface water quality, groundwater quality, ambient air quality, dust fallout monitoring, noise monitoring, effluent discharge monitoring, and land contamination assessments)- further prepare me for any environmental position. -Responsible for managing the day-to-day site implementation of the performance specifications particularly Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001), developing EMS procedures, ensuring compliance with R.O.D (EA), CEMP & relevant environmental legal legislation - Implementation and monitoring of the project specific environmental management plan, conducting environmental compliance and the compilation of regular monitoring stats/reports. - Act as liaison and advisor on all environmental and related issues, seek advice from ECO or Environmental Manager as and when necessary and ensure that any complaints received from the public are reported to the EM. - Perform environmental surveillance and internal audits, environmental control over construction site activities. - Implement remediation and rehabilitation work required.

Excellent learning opportunity

Minimal daily interaction on-sites, opportunity to work independently and manage environments as appointed. Gaining experience on mega projects in south africa has been a massive advantage, aided by several professional courses which enhance ability on respective projects.

Opportunity to work from home

Great copmapny that has staff all over South africa. They look afetr their staff and they go out of their way to make the environment great. The staff are friendly and you always get a chance to directly communicate with your boss or directors
