The major purpose of Specialist Contracting is to apply category contract processes in a specific environment and to carry out the various Business Units customer needs by applying specialist expert knowledge within a specific procurement category along the key business processes standardized strategies, operating models, policies and procedures for effective Contracting and Contract Management. Integration of the Procurement Category and Business Units, and between the Procurement Category and the relevant Strategic Sourcing Teams. Integration of the Category in Procurement Management with Supply Demand Management, Materials Management and the Projects Procurement environment. Manage the relationship between Procurement Management per Category and its Key Stakeholders. Deliver on performance measures and implementation plans for the respective Category to maximize on contract spend and compliance to governance. Even more important, have passion for people.

Hardworking pople orientated organised multitasking management
My professional experience in the academic, production, research and development environments has given me a wide range of expertise as a leader, scientist, researcher, project coordinator and as a mentor. Academically, I hold a PhD in Chemistry from the Witwatersrand University. I accumulated a wealth of technical and leadership experience at Sasol Technology Research and Development. My research activities were based on catalyst development and material characterization, Fischer Tropsch, reactions, fuel refinery technologies, strategy development, etc. I accumulated a wealth of experience on project management and co-ordination that involved Sasol partners and stakeholders at international level. I have published research papers at international journals and presented Sasol at international conferences.

Excellent Learning Curve
Extremely high learning curve and stressful environment. Plant monitoring is repetitive. Co-workers relationship is torn by stress. Very high learning curve, shutdowns are long hours and safety risk due to fatigue.

Working a the refinery

Great learning experience
They took me in through a learneship opportunity which allowed me to get my Trade Test Certificate in Industrial instrumentation and Control. Got an opportunity to register P1 and P2 also finish outstanding subject to complete National Diploma in Electronics Engineering (Process Instrumentation and Control). Got exposed to plant environment and the safety required by OSH Act and learned to be independent and work alone. Had great mentor who taught and groomed me in my field of work.
