National Zoological Gardens Reviews

My work day starts at 8h00 and end at 16h30.I spend the first half of my day interacting with school groups and the public with the assistance of 4 staff members. Team work is highly encouraged for better results. I have a good working relationship with my colleagues. we share information and better practices in education. when developing programmes together as a group, starting with brainstorming and identifying the weakness on the objectives and activities . I have learnt to value all my coworkers and their inputs to the programme. I have also learned that the costumer needs must always be prioritized. I enjoy developing the programme and assessing its quality through implementation and evaluation. I also enjoy interacting with the adult learners who are more committed to learn. The most challenging aspect of my work is making sure that as a team we all understand the importance of quality assurance in our programmes.

Good working hours

The working hours are good, however, when required you can also work on weekends and holidays. There are however, close to zero chances of permanent employment in the education department as a volunteer.

Pros: Exposure to other departments in the Zoo
Cons: No opportunity for permanent employment
