Excellent learning curve

I am currently enjoying my work as a intern. This is because I am doing all the National Youth Development Agency products and services. I get to learn everything that our organisation does. As an intern, I get full support from my co-workers and they are always there to assist. I have learnt customer service and admin work in general. I enjoy talking to clients and and the feedback I get from them with regards to my service has been positive. The most challenging aspects of my job is when clients complains about our service as a branch. I have to ensure that he/she leaves the branch satisfied, which is not an easy task.

Pros: We have two division in our organisation. The good thing is that I do have an opportunity to work in both divisions since I have been rotating between the two clusters.
Cons: We work 08:00 to 17:00 every day which I do not have a problem with

Frontline Intern

Its very inspiring and motivating as Nyda mandate is to empower young people and address their issues in terms of career guidance,entrepreneurship and life skills and job preparation.To me working in this company feels like i am investing my energy in something that does not only benefits me but the other youth are also part of it .My work require a good communication skill and ability to work with people but i didn't find it difficult because working with people is one of my strength.With my co-worker we work as a team which i find very innovative and more effective in a constructive way because we share and exchange a pool of ideas .I learnt that punctuality and dedication to work makes you do your work more effective and that when you deal with people you need to be patient and be courteous.To plan and cordinates the programmes and one or two people get what they want.To plan the program then the people fail to show up.

Pros: The company has funded youth in SA to assist on creating job opportunity which helps to grow the economy of this country.Its changes the standard of living and create a better life for the marginalised groups.The company create more opportunities for young people which open up channels and have a database which assists young people to find jobs since companies go to database for hiring to get right candidates for the job.
Cons: The company has facilitated changes in the lives of young people in the country .Since its existence its promote youth development its pave a way for youth to pursue their potential dreams in academically.Its objectives to reduce unemployment rates

Excellent exposure to my relevant qualification

always expecting something new. differnt challenge collegues are good to work with sometimes theres pressure but because we are all team players we get the work done iv leant alot how to work under pressure how to hamdle stress and the proper ways and channels to deal with people i just enjoy that every tasks im given im willing to learn and that sometimes its okay to make mistakes because thats how you learn

A good organisation with good customer service

i have a good relationship with my unit manager, specialists and other interns. i have learnt alot since i joined this organisation,such as admin work, a good communication skills ,report writing skills and able to work as a team as well as in indivivual. i enjoy working with people, since i'm placed at the head office we work with different clients as well as people from our 15 branches across South Africa.

Pros: great opportunity for acquiring more skills
Cons: i focus on one thing, sometimes i find it not too challenging

A mixture of learning, failed efforts and a wonderful learning curve in all aspects.

A typical work day involves souring procurement opportunities for entrepreneurs as well as mentors for them. This the most challenging because the agency does not offer any incentives to mentors so it is extremely difficult to get them to commit due to a lack of incentives. I enjoy working with entrepreneurs. I enjoy knowing that I have a hand in developing people so that they can help themselves. However, the agency is not structured in such a way that allows for the entrepreneurs to be effectively supported. I have learnt significant expertise in the development of small business development, especially in townships, I have learnt to consult effectively to source the information need from clients to assess their businesses and the stage of their businesses and I have learnt of the different aspects that affect business growth. I have also learnt to appreciate the differences in people due to working with a number of clients and diverse colleagues.

Pros: Great learning curve, opportunity to network, developing my skills, relevant for career path.
Cons: no opportunity for promotion, agency not impactful in development interventions, target-driven.

Learning curv

The nice part about the company is that you get to have access to all the field , meaning you get to learn things that you don’t work with. You end o knowing with path you really like to trade. The challenging part is that everyone blames IT where even our seniorsWilling to take. The challenge is people I worked with they do not have team work ethic.

Front line intern

I find team work very innotive and inspiring because you learn to share ideas and listen to others opinion.I have a good relationship with my colleagues and we worked together as a team.I have learnt to plan programmes and presentation skills.planning a program and seeing an impact on that program.challenges begins when the stakeholder cancel to come to the program at the day before the programme and not reaching the number of clients requested to attend the program s.I enjoy working as the front line intern.

Cons: I work 8 hours per day.

It has been a good journey so far. Educational and loading me with skills.

What I like about the organization is that it is diverse. There are different directions that one can follow. I involved myself with different programmes such as Grants, Vouchers and Jobs and Placements. I deal with clients enquiry on a daily basis. I enjoy the challenge of dealing with difficult clients. There is an honest open relationship between co-workers.

Pros: There is a big room for one to develop
Cons: It is a good era but only if there can be one that opens in the field where I have a studied.
