Excellent learning opportunity.

Good working relationship with cowokers Receive and prepare samples for analysis. Processing of routine and research samples. Review results and report them. Maintain, operate and troubleshoot equipments. Learned to work independently. Enjoy working with my team. Nothing is challenging in my eyes, i tackle everything as a learning curve.

Pros: Opportunity to learn out of scope
Cons: Sometimes it becomes too quite

Brilliant learning opportunities

Its a very large company that is supported by the governmemt department of health. Respond to the nation wide outbreaks of diseases thus great learning opportunities but no room for stepping up. Great working hours, great working enviroment, viriety of cultures and religions and most of all good working relationship. What is challenging is just the fact that i travel far for me to get to work (Pretoria to Johannesburg).

Pros: Opportunity to learn out of scope
Cons: No room for growth

Greatest analytical and reporting skills

I am currently unemployed as I just completed my masters degree. However, my typical day at my previous job was mainly focused at doing quality assurance for clinical studies and running some analysis from our studies. I had great relationships with all my coworkers because I have good communication skills and I take time to listen to people. I have learnt to manage my time more and to do any kind of work assigned to me even if the tasks are out of my job descriptions. I enjoy working with people and discovering and learning new things in the ever changing health environments. The most challenging aspects of being a Junior Public Health Professional was to work hard to prove my worth as I was pretty new in the field. Lastly, learning how to use different kinds of statistical packages for analysis was challenging but rewarding.

Pros: Potential for growth and always learning a lot and attending trainings
Cons: Low pay

Great learning opportunity

Doing an internship has been super advantageous and definitely gave me an advantage in my career. However nearly career scientists can be taken advantage of, and small teams lead to high amounts of drama

Pros: Lots of experience
Cons: Small team
