National Department of Health Reviews

CONTRIBUTING TO HELPING THE NEEDY PEOPLE

it is fulfilling to work at the Department of Health as I am constantly exposed to assisting other people to achieve their goals. I have a good relationships with my co-workers as a manager I constantly see that the team work in harmony and are clear with the goals we need to achieve. I love my job because is about people and seeing people change their behavior and views about life for the better is quite fulfilling. The most challenging is when I don't see an impact of my work in a person as change of behavior as this requires a person's acceptance of their condition for example an employee who is dependent in substances. I am also responsible for the management and coordination of the CSI projects of the Department which fulfills me by being a helping hand of other human beings more specially our previously disadvantaged communities.

Pros: broadening my scope on CSI and community development
Cons: I am ready to do what is takes in my new posistion

The department has lot of opportunities especially in IT unit and lots of politics too.

day work typically involves attending calls such as hardware and software problems, issues with peripherals, configuring and installation of new or used equipment, attending to network problems and escalate them if they are beyond my limit as there are few people allowed in the server room, and many other it technical problem that may arise. The relationship with my co-workers is very good, i rarely struggles when they around and i also give them advise regarding problem i have encounter and manage to fix. i enjoyed learning new things as new systems are introduced in the department, my supervisor is the kind of person who believes on training and sharing knowledge with junior staff. the job is challenging because not everyone who logs a call report a fault as it is. they usually report minor problems as if they are major, and major problems as if they are minor and when you get there you'll find out the tools you took for the job aren't enough, because the problem is not what is reported but something huge.

Pros: great learning opportunity
Cons: lack of resources

Excellent learning and growing

Working at the department of health has helped me to learn to put the patients first but mostly important the relationship i have with the colleagues. I am a quiet person by nature but i get along with anyone. I work 8 hours a day Monday to friday. I order medication for the clinics and always at the dispensary. I have learnt to work with people and have a great communication skills. I enjoy new challenges.. i always enjoy to learn more everyday. But the challenges of being short staffed and sometimes have to work alone has been one of many challenges

Pros: Great opportunity to grow
Cons: Long hours

Excellent learning curve

? collection of data from 10 schools per week ? Ensure correctness and completeness of data ? Submit data forms as per protoc ?capture data, one school a week My relationship with with my co workers is like my second family, we may have our ups and downs but we are able to forgive each others mistakes and move on positively. I have learned that in a work environment nothing is perfect as long as you keep a positive attitude and continue to learn and you will grow as an individual personality wise and potential of the skills and knowledge you Would have acquired. I enjoy traveling as it's an opportunity for me to see new place and interact with new people The most challenging aspect of my job is having to travel long distance everyday as it can get tiring

Pros: Advances ones skills and knowledge
Cons: Traveling far distances everyday can be tiring
