Good Opportunity

My typical day at work is receiving of Raw material and packaging material, conducting quality tests on the material received. Supervising In-service trainees on their daily tasks, liaising with suppliers in regards with material received or rejections, online trouble shooting and updating of daily report, procedures and SOP as needed. My relationship with my co-workers is good as we understand each other and work as a team. My role as a Raw material inbound quality controller has taught me how to be a team player, how to work under pressure and how to deal with different people from different backgrounds and cultures. It has also taught me the importance of time management. The thing I mostly enjoy about my job is knowing at the end of the day that we produced a product of best quality and that is safe for consumption. The most challenging aspect of my job is dealing with different people from different background and cultures.

Typical day will start at 7:00 - I walk through the factory production lines - greeting all staff evaluate if they are wearing their PPE and adhering to Food safety rules - I would pick up a few product packets and make sure the date codes are correct. Back in my office I would evaluate the product results on the on line shopware computer system - visit the laboratory to collect any product that has been put on hold - take that to the production meeting for evaluation and final decision.If there are any upcoming audits I will go through previous audit findings with Food safety specialist to make sure all gaps are closed.Will once a week attend management meeting. I enjoy working with people and solving problems - I have a very good relationship with all co-workers on all levels as I am really a people's person. I enjoy setting out goals for the teams and then achieving our targets together is very satisfying.

Pros: I just want to add positively to the overall success of the company
Cons: Cant think of any Constrains for me to do my job and to perform.

Excellent learning experience.

Working for National Brands limited has exposed me to different challenges that occur in the FMCG industry. Everyday is a different challenge of which we work tirelessly to overcome. The management of this company needs a lot of work though. Maybe management skills training will do. The working environment is somewhat cosy as some employees have been in the company for over 20 years. they are not accustomed to change and find it difficult to evolve with time. I have an excellent relationship with my co-workers. I learnt to be strong willed and stand my ground and stand for what I believe is suitable for the company. I have enjoyed the results of the audits that we have produced over the years. I have grown exceptionally over the years. Audit period is the most challenging aspect of my job. We work overtime but we do reap the rewards of exceptional results of the audits.

No delelopment in terms of growth and development

Currently working as a senior electrician (Electrical foremen) working standby duties, no opportunity for learning and development asked the company to train me as an Engineer in training while I was doing my GCC factories studies company did not recognize my studies till I passed my exams and now I am a certificated engineer still they don't consider the qualifications and yet the are companies outside that are looking for my experience and knowledge that I could deliver to them

Learning managerial skills, stress management, people management

A well established company with well known brands. who thrives in a fast paced dynamic environment. I am able to exhibit professionalism and very confident, armed with a well vast interpersonal skill that allows me to instantly to build relationships on all levels. I have the ability to tutor my subordinates, share knowledge so that we can all reach one common goal as per company/customer expectations. My goal is to join an organization that grooms, guides, so people can work together on a common platform to make them work towards a predefined goal. I want to also add utility, opulence and experience to ensure prosperity.

Learning curve

Great exposure to the industry. People tend to not want to make decisions alot and prefer to shift the blame a. The company is very broad so one tends to be exposed to alot of departments lot.

Experiance in Packaging Machines and the processing of Coffee

During my journey with my present company it has become like a second home to me.The people are like family and I have enjoyed working here and for the knowledge I have gained in the process of making and packing both ground and Roasted Coffee and all the downstream equipment. Unfortunately it is regretted by both parties that I have to leave

Fast pace learning environment

On the ball from the start of the shift. This fast paced environment is not for the faint hearted. You have to be prepared for anything at any time as problems can occur later in the day and its up to you to solve it. The people are friendly and we have a great working dynamic within our team. The great thing about working here is that you get thrown into all different areas which is a good opportunity to learn all aspects of a business. The best part of this job is seeing a product on the shelf and knowing that you contributed to it. The most challenging part of is time management as you have to multitask on so many things.

Pros: Company stability - within a group
Cons: Long working hours.
