We are expected to be leaders.able to handle pressure.make decisions I am currently working with a team of experienced and non experenced artisans but i have to teach them to work as a team I have to plan work to best suit the business demands but also controlling the costs

Great challenge and learning opportunity. Great for learning GMP and clean room behaviour. However growth within the company is very limited . Quality standards and clean room behaviour learning opportunity

Excellent learning curve

I am a bulk manufacturing supervisor with 4 years experience. I have 6 people reporting to me at night from two different departments (three in each department ). The most challenging part about the job is lack of communication from people, day shift and night shift. The work load can be challenging at night due to the number of people at night compared to day shift, but this is an issue that we (the night shift supervisors ) have raised with the direct manager.The hours worked are 06:00 to 18:00 at night and working long hours can be challenging as well. I enjoy the relationship I have with the people reporting directly to me in that they are respectful towards me and they listen to my instructions.

Challenging but satisfying

Ensure a timeous 24/7 operation has been executed to fulfill the company's needs. Ensure all documentation is in order for production and availability of staff for the job execution. Arrange staff for the day's production and attend meetings with higher management for production related issues and targets. Staff are very co-operative and always willing to learn. I enjoy a good staff complement and they always make the job easier although it can be demanding. Challenges arise when there is process or equipment failure and there are delays in production deadlines

Sustainable business

I work in a manufacturing plant of crude product. Its a routinely process but very delicate. Factors such as pH and temperatures are the main controls of how the quality will be like.Centrifugation and filtration are also major steps that take place in the process. With the company trying to expand its operations there is overwhelming amounts of work resulting in one not having time to advance themselves in education. Time management, process control are some of the things I learn in order to meet deadlines. Healthy relationships have been a must since there is continuous teamwork.

Cons: Working shifts and no time to study further, low wage as compared to other identical departments within the company

Great working team environment. The team is always working towards one goal which is meeting the company's expectations. Opportunities on upskilling yourself and gaining more experience within the finance sector.
